    Re: No shame in that

Anyone who has been to palarse full stop has been to the ends of the earth. Horrible place to get to. Saying that the other season the club coach went there instead of QPR...

The first time I went there

Was in the Spring of 1982. We won 2-1 with our goals being scored by Colin Walker & Alan Birch, I think. It was on a Saturday afternoon, but it took us whilst nearly eight o'clock to get through London and onto the M1. We finally got back to Gilroyd Club just before last orders!

True enough, but it doesn't help when the police send all coaches south after the match. An hour and a half to get through Croyden, and then the M25 and Dartford crossing to contend with. Last time I went, we could still see that tv mast thing right next to the ground at about 8pm. Very frustrating journey.

"Do I not like that". Koeman cheating us out of the WC, well the ref and us being ***** had something to do with it too.

Rugby Sevens - do you know they are taking place in Las Vegas in a few weeks' time? We were going to go, but it's a week AFTER the kids have a 2-day school week, so we decided aganst it. Should be quite a party in Vegas too!

    To Middlesbrough from Cambridge

to see the Reds in the FA Cup in 1980/1, lost 2-1 (Mike Lester) despite outplaying the 1st Division side for 70% of the match.

Also to Portsmouth from South Derbyshire in the 1996/7 promotion season (probably doesn't count because the day of the game was the last day of a course I was on in Maidenhead so I was 2 thirds of the way there).

I went to Daytona back in 2001 to watch the Daytona 500. What an absolutely amazing experience.
