I've not learned d minor yet so that's me well and truly fecked, though like any half decent wannabe guitarist, I've mastered the playing behind my head/using my teeth method. In fact I've decided I'm actually better with my teeth. Maybe Mr. feckner should try a similar approach?

    Anyway, sorry for passing judgement

RE: While ever you're using words like "good" and "best", you do.

I'm sure he will and never said he wouldn't. He plays the sort of music that encourages people who don't normally buy CDs to go down to HMV and get their cash out, then they'll have it on in the background while they drink red wine.

    RE: Agreed.

I can't believe that was my 1000th post, and it was about Newton Faulkner.

For the record (no pun intended...or maybe there was?), what do you listen to?

Yes. There is a tedious inevitability about it.

    You're forgiven.

Anyway, this argument comes and goes all the time, I don't know why I bothered joining in. I just get frustrated when people come out and say someone's *****, simply because it's not to their taste. Windy did the same about the Arctic Monkeys he even reviewed their album track by track. I think he concluded that the guitarist (aged 17) was deliberately not as accomplished as pete townsend (aged 104) in a contrived effort to sound raw or something.

Eaststander didn't like them because they didn't play baseball probably.

oooh look at me on my high horse.

    I'd say the singer has a **** voice therefore they're ****.

Is this how it works right?

Very eclectic, there isn't one genre that I solely listen to. I tend to play indie music when I'm djing in bars/clubs etc. and on the radio. I like some pop, hip-hop, reggae, house, electro, punk, whatever really.

    RE: Agreed.

Fair enough, was just looking to get an idea of the sorts of bands/acts etc that you're into.

I'm very much into my British rock bands - I tend to prefer 'heavier' bands - such as Hell is for Heroes, Reuben, Biffy, Hundred Reasons, *shels etc etc etc...but lately, have been listening to a lot of stuff like Aphex twin, venetian snares, and really 'nice' instrumental bands such as Jesu, Explosions in the sky, 65daysofstatic etc etc.

In all honest, the only music I don't really have time for is pretty much anything on Radio 1 - especially Indie!

You've lost the right to call anyone 'contrived'. Newton Faulkner's a stage school kid from Surrey who sings with an American accent.

In all honesty, I've not heard of most of those bands, but I spose it's not my scene.

I'm a fan of Radiohead though, old Bloc Party, and the odd interpol song.

Familiar with Forward Russia by any chance?

Is that the best you can Google?

You're contrived if you a) Went to stage school, b) Come from Surrey or c) Sing with an American accent?

    Are we just messing now?

Nothing more annoying than fake accents, especially put on American accents. Then again, I hate Kate Nash more than anyone, so her fake Cockney accent is the worst of the lot for me
