And because a twitch on the control valve in the middle east can change overnight the economic position in the UK.

Vodaphone - I doubt - most shareholders will get the cash and spend it instead or it goes through to pension funds and therefore be spent and vat paid etc. etc. by pensioners.

Wooden dollars this one for me.

Starbucks - hitting them might help a bit as this money is going out of the system completely. But how many UK companies do we benefit from on the flip side. Half the worlds mining companies pay tax in the UK - and last time I checked we didn't do much mining here. I guess this is swings and roundabouts.

Phillip Green - and other associated fat cats taking big sums out of the system completely - there's a fundamental problem with Trickle down which solving might help long term with wealth distribution. but I don't think any UK govt. can solve that with international finance and the like - Even the greens who appear to want to make a fist of it I bet I could drive a bus through once I'd read the detail. Yes fat cats should pay their taxes. They don't. No amount of crying about it is really going to change much and how the hell do you legislate against it. I agree they should pay. I just can't see how you make uncivilised multi billionaires pay in a civilised world when you have nations like Switzerland helping them out.

But no - fundamentally 6 billion is again unfortunately bad - but as the news came in this week - the government had a suprise 7bn shortfall on borrowing forecasts it's just noise on the 100 billion deficit and Trillions of base debt especially as a lot of it is either a one off or would get back into the system somehow anyway.

So £6bn to the treasury that wasn't collected is 'wooden dollars ' because it may be spent by the shareholders ?

bit of a leap of faith there to me.

so you think the people of Barnsley have been hoodwinked all these years and in actual fact its our own local councillors that's been keeping us in poverty by withholding money to a ex heavy industrialised town where health and social welfare are more dependant than Henley on Thames who are allocated more resources.
Think you need to re examin your theories IMO.the large majority of Barnsley folk are not easily fooled as you are alluding to.
We know where the aggression comes from so don't try to re write our history to shape our future.
