I would prefer Scott to stay and get a run in our first team

instead of sitting on the bench. Ok he is classed as a regular in the first team but would get more playing experience if he was in the reserves. He is keen to play and people who know about football, Peter Taylor for one, rate him as a player for the future England team.

We should try and keep him but if we can't then let him go to a bigger and better club where he will have a chance of playing. I don't think Chelsea would be a good idea because they already have 2 really good goalkeepers but I don't know about Wigan.

If Scott leaves BFC then we should ask for a large fee plus extra money for how many times he plays for England at whatever level.

I see what you're saying Laura but we need to move now. It may be 2 or 3 years before Scott is ready for regular first team football, we need to get out of this division soon. If Scott moves to a Premier league team he will get better experience on the training field, work with better players and improve to the point where we may have a former red in goal for England within 5 or 6 years. If he stays then we have to pay his wages to warm the bench while he gets more and more dissatisfied leading to him demanding a move or worse still becoming out of contract and us having to give him away. If we get some money now (when he's not quite ready for 1st team football) we can help his career while helping Barnsley get out of this division.

You are absolutely right about us demanding lots of money now with more to come when he plays for England.

If it's Chelsea or Wigan/Bolton or any big team, we should get a friendly with them at home as well!!

I would want 1 million now and £250k after 1st England game and £250k after 10 first team games and 25% sell on fee!!
