I also haven’t seen Mowatt wearing an armband big enough to fit 7,500 names on it.

And it would have been nice to see a photo of the tunnel with the names on, too. Obviously that will have happened, as it’s right there promised in black and white.

Back in the real world you expect what you paid for surely, even more so because you cant actually attend matches. And this was promised during COVID.

Having said that, l'm hapoy just to go back to a simple season ticket without the bells and whistles!!

    I
Is it really that important Helen.?
Circumstances have put a kibosh on everything. Believe me. people are suffering throughout Covid. And folk are worried about such trivialities. The mind boggles.

I really couldn’t care less about any of the things that have not been fulfilled - I seriously doubt anybody does. Nobody bought a season ticket so their name is on the tunnel wall, or on Mowatt’s arm, or to have a shirt in the ponty end.

But the point is the club didn’t need to advertise that they would be offering it - it was silly. Done purely to bulk out the list of ‘benefits’. And you can’t say ‘circumstances changed’ because these things were only promised after Covid.

Couldn’t care less but added to the fire. Circumstances are changing all the time. Or haven’t folk noticed. If folk are bairning cos they haven’t got the shirt they were promised. Go to the club and ask for it. Most don’t give a toss.

Obviously ruffled a few feathers. I’ve had my say. If the cap fits wear it. Done.

To me no but the point I'm clumsily making is that a business has promised ( and this was when we were in the middle of COVID) things that haven't materialised. As you say, some will.have been stretched to afford a season ticket this year

Same here, I don't particularly care but I find it a bit annoying that year after year the club states benefits of having a season ticket and year after year they choose not to deliver on those stated benefits.

I'd much prefer them to be honest and say all you're getting is a ticket for a seat and nothing else than to mislead the customers and just rely on peoples goodwill in ignoring the lies.

This. I reckon 100% of season ticket holders this season would still have got them if they just said. “Ticket comes with codes for home games and a replica shirt with reserved +.”

The rest of the rubbish just leaves them open for threads like this, and criticism they can do without. I don’t give too hoots really about my name on armbands or tunnels. But I won’t criticise anyone who has an issue with the club because they were promised this before they purchased a season ticket, yet just like last year these promises are yet to be fulfilled.

You're missing the point. Nobody cares that the promises haven't been fulfilled. Nobody is 'bairning cos they haven’t got the shirt they were promised'.

The club shouldn't offer things they have no intention of fulfilling. I'm one of the biggest happy clappers going on here, when it comes to the club, management, owners etc. but this is basic stuff.

Honestly it could leave them open to legal action.

I had a proper chat with Calum Styles. Luckily though there was no such thing as lockdown then or he’d probably have put the phone down on me while I bent his ear...

It was also when fans were expected back in October so the club would not have known they wouldn't have been able to do the t-shirt mural. They did say they'd put the shirts out when fans were allowed back in so lets see if that materialises. Some people received a phone call most didn't as I expected. They were never going to phone 7,500 people. They may well have done the tunnel/armband thing and if so there should have been photographs on the main site. I suppose the one gripe of all the promises is that monthly prize draw. That would have been very simple to organise, maybe even give away some old stock from the club shop as prizes. Having said all that, the limited number of staff on PR who are working their socks off to get the club through this crisis may well have decided that the peripheral stuff is of lower priority
. I see everyone's point of view but I'm firmly in the Hooky Feller camp.

I can almost guarantee they haven’t done the armband thing.

I suspect that ‘benefit’ was when they expected far less season ticket numbers than they got. Is it even possible to put 7,500 names on an armband small enough to wear? If you do it minuscule, unreadably so, you’re gonna be looking at minimum 1mm tall and let’s be conservative and say 5mm wide. In reality unless we have 7,500 Jo Wood’s it’s gonna be bigger than that. Let’s be kind to Alex and say his biceps are 40cm around. Makes it easier. He can fit 80 names in a row.

Even in those best case scenarios with the text unreadable and 0 space between names, it would be 10cm (4 inches) long on his arm. It would be extremely uncomfortable for him to wear and we’d definitely have been able to see him wearing it.

Cotton? Cotton? You think these owners can afford something as expensive as cotton, just to put on a seat to be rained on and shat on by pigeons? ;-)
