My point exactly Good and bad all over the world, in differrent proportions. I'm sure the people who hate the Germans would love to be there rather than in Iraq, Zimbabwe or Afghanistan etc etc. Bloody poxy football team though. Got murdered tonight.
RE: Only if you like Germans I was an au-pair in Germany for a year and the family i worked for were lovely. 16 years on still exchange birthday and christmas cards
of course my German "friends" will all find excuses to call me tomorrow on spurions work related matters and just happen to mention they are in the sodding final again and as where we are I so hope they get hammered in the final
They sound nice folks I know several blokes who are/were in the building trade and have worked over there. Loads of them still get cards, presents etc and some go back regularly for holidays or just to visit for a few days. Anyway you got your ticket for the Coventry match yet?
I hope they get hammered too, in a football sense only of course They are certainly getting "hammered" tonight - the fans, that is (pint)
RE: They sound nice folks I haven't asked yet. Better get onto that soon as it was such a carry on getting the signed shirt, lots of confusion and mix-ups. The signed shirt is packed safetly away with my David Watson squad signed shirt, Nicky Eaden shin pad, Andrew Liddell boot and Martin Bullock boot. Not that i'm bragging
Well glad to hear you got it at last I've got a framed collage of photos from the Liverpool and Chelsea games, including team sheets and signed by all our squad for both games. Not that I'm bragging I'll swap it for Brian Howard's jock strap if you like.
Here it is What a strange way of finding out someone's address! Anyway, this is where I live: - Stahlschwanz The Dil Raj 8-12 High Street Dodworth Barnsley S75 3RE. Let me know when you plan to do the job and I'll make sure I'm in.
I've just watched the game in a bar in Heidelberg I work for a German company. I'm over here on business. I always pick a team in any game I'm watching, and tonight it was Germany. I've worked for this company for many years. I have many German colleagues and friends. 50% of me wanted them to win, because of the reasons explained. 50% of me did not want them to win, because it just makes England look even worse than they make themselves look in important competitions. The Hauppestrasse was wild as I walked home after the game, even when I stopped at a Turkish place for a Kebap (German spelling). Can't say I'd feel as safe in the UK as a foreigner. And as for the war, it is still funny in the context of John Cleese and Faulty Towers, but for Christ's sake let it go.
RE: Here it is So you've finally done it and packed up and moved in. That will save the inconvenience of having to go to your house to bed on a night after your meal
Just repeated this, as it will get lost above I work for a German company. I'm over here on business. I always pick a team in any game I'm watching, and tonight it was Germany. Saves me a 4 minute walk Plus saves on heating bills. Only problem was one night one of the staff put some red chillies in my bed. Made me get really hot in the middle of the night.
Thanks both of you Most of you know I live there and got homesick and came back. Don't regret that. But it was nowt to do with the Germans it was just me missing Tarn.
