Why would anyone criticise you? It's surely your own choice affecting no one else.

I must be a bit mad because I have to get out for fresh air everyday, and I certainly would meet up with a friend for a walk, regardless of weather.

You're probably not up for it and I wouldn't blame you for the reasons you've said above about the weather because I agree but if you get really down I'll gladly go for a walk with you whenever you want Jay though I can't guarantee you'd feel better afterwards

Followed them to letter from March until June, my wife had a mental breakdown (don't know if that's the correct terminology but it's the simplest description) the kids (both disabled) were not in a good way either.
Have broken them fairly regularly since but kept it within a very small family group. Outlined on here a few times I've put my families wellbeing first, having hit the low we did in June I make no apology for that.
The unfortunate consequence of this is even when it was allowed I didn't see any of my friends and haven't since March. If it wasn't for going to work I think I would be struggling. Luckily for me I have worked throughout and that I think has been a great benefit to my mental health.

I can't help thinking that something I dislike doing really quite avidly even on the nicest of days isn't going to make me feel much better at a time when it will be combined with getting soaking wet and freezing cold.

Thanks for the sentiment and the offer though, appreciated.

Followed them throughout the first lockdown & can honestly say I don’t think we broke them once.

Since then we decided the only people we’d socialise with were our parents even when we were allowed to see more people.

Luckily we’re all able to work from home or retired so we don’t come into contact with other people apart from shopping.

We’ll still see the same 4 people over Christmas & the New Year. I trust us 6 to be sensible. I don’t trust the Government.

When others were eating out to help out & in pubs & having weekends away over the summer we stuck to our bubble & we’ll carry on doing so. If that makes me a ***** for breaking the rules then fair enough but I think the rules are idiotic & the way we’ve carried on is far safer.

I’m the same I work behind a desk so I have to get out otherwise I think it’d drive me insane. I’ve been on several 2 hour walks on my own in the last 2 weeks and don’t think the weathers been that bad I just put my big coat on. I meet others to walk at the weekend regardless of the weather as i value the social interaction well above getting wet.

Up to six socially distanced in outdoor spaces.

However, you can see friends and family you do not live with (or do not have a support bubble with) in some outdoor public places, in a group of up to 6. This limit of 6 includes children of any age.

    These outdoor public places include:

    • parks, beaches, countryside accessible to the public, forests
    • public gardens (whether or not you pay to enter them)
    • allotments
    • the grounds of a heritage site
    • outdoor sports courts and facilities
    • playgrounds

Plus you'd have to spend time with me and I assure you the actual physical soaking wet, freezing cold boring walk in the rain would suddenly seem like the highlight of that little venture.

I've not obeyed the rules, but I've been completely clear to others about what I'm doing and left the decision about whether they want to see me to them. I've got a young daughter and as I see it I'm not at any huge risk - the risk is with parents etc who visit me. I avoid unnecessary contact where possible (all shopping is delivered) but maintain some social contact and inform friends/family fully about what I'm doing and then the informed decision is theirs to make without judgment on my part.

To be honest, life wasn’t much different for me before lockdown, just without a mask. Bit of a recluse working from home. I did have a few plans for the summer, working holiday in London & stuff. But that got blown out early on, so adopted myself another elderly Jack Russell, Alf. Who’s a little smasher, so can’t regret too much.
I’m considered a little bit more vulnerable than average, so follow advice best I can. I depend on public transport too. Last thing I want is the covid illness on top of everything else..
It doesn’t help living in Wentworth. People keep coming up here, even though there’s bugger all open..

Like it matters. We're in a dictatorship some ( like myself) were just too blind to see it at the time.

This latest announcement has made my blood boil.

Tier restrictions for the North whilst London blissfully carries on.

The numbers drop up North but because the fo ooking southerners get a sniffle they cancel Christmas in spite of the numbers.

I'm quite strict with hand washing, wearing masks and keeping distance at supermarkets etc. However, I've broken the rules a few times. Went to see my friends for tea other weekend. All of a similar age, all working from home, none of us coming into contact with someone at high risk. So don't feel particularly guilty about it. And it was an enormous boost for my mental well-being. Will also now be breaking the rules at Christmas when I stay over at my parents. Because to me there's no difference between staying at someone's house all day and staying over night.

As far as I know I haven’t broken any rules, but they are confusing and have changed several times not all make sense so I can’t be certain I haven’t inadvertently broken one
