No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Actually, they're not that bad. They're just nowhere near as good as they, their sycophantic press scribes and their deluded fans seem to think they are.

How they get a lifetime achievement award before somebody like Ray Davies is just hilarious. I thought it were Frank Gallagher singing.

Saw them in 96 at Knebworth

The bloke from Ocean colour Scene said they were the most important band of the past 30 years. So spent the rest of the day naming more important bands since 1966. It was more fun than watching the performing chimps.

standing on the shoulders of giants

"They've been standing on the shoulders of the giants for years...mainly by looking over their shoulders and copying their chord structures" :D

Says it all really. And to prove it they sing 'Cigarettes and Alcohol' = 'Get it on' by T-Rex

Oasis were and are a massive band.

Name me 5 other bands that can go on massive stadium world tours and sell out every gig.

Tickets for Oasis at the Sheff Arena sold out in hours. While you can probably still buy tickets for Keane and Kasabian now, and they’ve been out ages.

The millions of people around the world who like them obviously don’t read this board do they.

Oasis isn’t my thing but I still realise there a great band.

    well said mate,

its all to easy for people to criticise them just because their music isnt their cup of tea. they fail to realise the came from a f*ck all background to become one of the biggest bands in the world

I know, I remember a thread on here not long ago saying how great the Scissor Sisters where at a live concert.

    Nuff said really.

    Hold your horses, Heaney

Their music isn't my cup of tea? I used to think they were the best thing music-wise ever. Then they released Standing on the shoulders of giants, which was a very lazy effort and threw evrything together. Well at least thats how it sounded - and has done ever since. And Live - christ they are awful. Liam is a proper dingbat. Fame really went to their heads massively. And thats what why I really started to dislike them.

i wasn't referring to you directly

admittedly Giants is their worst offering, still has some bangin tracks though feckin' In The Bushes, Who Feels Love.

Their live performances have gone downhill massivly and that is down to Liams voice alone, too much booze and fags mean he can now only shout as opposed to sing and this means they are limited as to what can be included in any set list now, no way in hell would he be able to sing slide away, dont go away or rockin chair cos he cant hit the high notes

Still think Heathen Chemistry & DBTT are top top albums though.

Ok mate no probs. And I do agree with a lot of what you say there to be honest. My main gripe like I say is the way they act and perform rather than their studio stuff. They could have been awesome, but their behaviour has stopped them. Dont really like the 2 albums you mention though, but I think they have gone downhill since bonehead, guigsy and whitey left.
