Should have took his shirt off or jumped into the crowd after one of his goals against Ipswich.

Can we please stop all this??

Brian Howard could potentially miss the Wembley semi because HE has accumulated 9 bookings this season. At least one of those were for diving, but if remember rightly many were petty. It's his fault he's got in this position, and he's had ample chance to 'choose' the suspension before the Chelsea game.

Personally, I don't care whether he plays at Wembley - or not at this stage at least, we've got two MASSIVE league games to play first, and if he's shirking in those games because of the yellow card issue, I'd drop him anyway.

I fully expected to see him try for a booking against Ipswich, especially when the game was won, but I have to say I have more respect for him that he didn't. To me, all of those suggesting he OUGHT to have got himself booked to miss these two league games, are prioritising cup over league. I can't understand that.

No we want committed players to give their all and the semi is too bigger game on his mind.

No - You miss my point

my suggestion was that he could shirk tackles in these next two games like he did against Wednesday, and if he does, and is therefore anonymous in both games, like he was against Wednesday when we may as well have played with 10 men, and he knew/ knows that he would be doing this, then he should have got himself booked against Ipswich as that would, at least, have given Davey the chance to play these games with 11 men who are committed to the game.

I would prefer it if he was fully commited to the tackle in each of these 2 games but somehow I doubt he will be, and its perhaps a little understandable - he is only human and will want to play at Wembley.

But if he is intending to play like princess tippytoes today then I'd prefer it if he were not on the pitch.  The Blunts game in particular today is going to be hard enough without playing a man down.

    I understand your point completely

I just disagree with the solution.

It's up to the manager to make sure Howard is at his peak for these crucial league games, and to do that all he needs to do is impress on him the fact that if he IS messing about pulling out of tackles, then he won't play at Wembley regardless of whether he's available or not.

Is it too much to ask of a professional footballer that they give 100% for massive matches? If Brian gets booked in doing so, then so be it, unlucky. We are a team, and will live without his services.

The league is far more important IMHO.

never ever seen Brian Howard anonymous in any game. Yes we may see him at 90% but his 90% contribution far outweighs most of his team mates individual input.
