never looked like scoring a goal?

    came very close vs coventry
    hit the bar at Brum?
    and more last season.

Sure he's lightweight but BH is hardly a tackling midfield monster is he?

Both would be better judged alongside a more robust CM and I doubt there would be much between them...can Leon take a pen??

Thats the way i see it too. I think Leon is backup to Howard. Colace is back up to Anderson. Formations may allow some of them to play together at times. Howard has been best player at club for us for 3 years, is the skipper, and so should be highest earner. Can't believe some of the stick he has been taking. I hope he doesn't read this site because he won't be signing a new contract.

He was our top scorer with 14 goals

I also think he had the most assists. of our 4 goals this season he scored one and put the pass through for one so not a bad start

I dont know why everyone seems so polarised about Howard and Leon though - they are both good enough for the championship
both have good days and bad days
Neither can tackle very well - Howard will score more goals but Leon has better distribution - especially if you have someone with pace to chase his through balls

There I didnt mention the 8 pens... Ooops

    nope the manager

gets a hell of alot of stick on here from people who just want him to fail, we probably have the most pessimistic fans in the country! God knows what it would be like if we never had a good fa cup run

People have opinions thats fair enough but sometimes it is just taken too far, we lose 4-0 but it is KO fault for missing a chance, we play well but lose and its SD should be out, patience is hardly a word I could use for most BFC fans!

    what a load of tosh

so because the team is not doing well players cannot have a social life? I'm pretty sure most of people who have had a bad week at work have a few drinks when they have time off!

    Not true that mate

KO only gets the blame for not scoring, not for Barnsley conceding.
    Thats Moore`s fault :D :D

The thing is we see glimpses of Leon's brilliance too rarely and as a result is rightfully as you say back up to Howard, now dunt get me wrong as you can tell frum my previous posts on here that Howard isn't someone I rate too highly however he gives his all and is a good championship player nothing more nothing less. He will not match his goal tally for last season and will probally chip in with around 7 or 8 and will have another above standard season's. Some people imo need to take into perspective that with Howard the problem is he has to much hype and he has inherited big time arrogance because of this, I still believe he is a good player to have at the club and warrants a first team place. Da Silva and Howard are first choice with Leon and Colace as replacements that is the plan and seems okay wi me. I feel we are actually building a decent midfield also wi Devaney,JCR,Haimour fighting for the two wing positions and also arguably Leon. The main problem is still the lack of a threatening natural goalscorer and the introduction of Darren moore. If SD get's his tactics right and puts Hassell at RB and Kozluk at LB and they play there for the majority of the season with Fozzy and Souza at CB'S and a couple more additions in January we will be fine and probally finish as the target is Mid Table!.
    Regards
