RE: DON'T LEAVE MCPHAIL He doesn't need to think over things! Anyone who wants to play for us would sign straight away. Even Nick Colgan said 'I want to sign before I go away on holiday' or something similar.
RE: DON'T LEAVE MCPHAIL He wants Ritchie to strengthen the team before he signs a new contract. Which is something we all agree with - if Ritchie didn't sign anyone this summer, i'm pretty sure we would struggle for the first half of next season. Reid & perhaps Colgan would struggle to attract a club bigger than Barnsley to sign them, so they'll be more than happy to commit. McPhail has attracted bigger teams and has more options........ Ambition and money, most people on here can't fault him for wanting to earn more money, we all do......
RE: DON'T LEAVE MCPHAIL Bloody Hell. This debate won't go away! The questions the club have to ask themselves are simple ones really: 1. Is he any good? erm....I would say he's the best player at the Club. 2. Would we have to spend much of our precious money to attact someone of equal quality? erm..yes..shedloads. Better to make him a decent offer and keep him I feel. As Ive watched this club for a good few years and seen some right 'badge-kissing' hypocrites it's quite refreshing for one of the players to question the ambition at the club. Let's be honest we struggled last season in getting out of a piss poor division. If we don't strenghen the team some of the shiny Cardiff gloss will wear off pretty soon. But not yet eh!
Leeds have just lost parachute payments so are financially vulnerable just as we were in 2000/2001 season. I'd be surprised if they can really offer that much more than we do. Saying that those who watch Soccer Night will know McPhail is still Leeds, when asked barnsley or Leeds... guess who he chose?
RE: Leeds have just lost parachute payments but they have also knocked 6-10 million off the wage bill as they aren't paying players like Fowler, Dacourt, Mateoo, Viduka, johnson etc so i doubt they will struggle financially this year it should even itself out! And to be fair to McPhail, he grew up with Leeds and last season took a shed load of abuse from our fans so what do you expect him to say!? Just like i'd expect Morgan to say Barnsley given the choice between us and the blades! (prob sit on the fence though)
