can you remember Gary Flemming retiring through injury he was worth more to the club in the pay out from the insurance ,he was a fantastic defender i think he was 31 when he finished.Didnt michael Boulding do the same then he made a comeback
Yes I remember, both players.
Well, we shall just have to see what happens from now on. Humey needs games and the sooner all this is sorted out the better for all concerned - player, club and fans.

RE: probably need some reserve team action once season starts nice one Davey and the club again!! how can players now get match fit??
Probably a legal-insurance issue I can't see why otherwise you would not play a player who is in urgent need of matches to get fit. There is usually club insurance, but players often take out (very expensive ie several thousand pounds) personal insurance. As any case against Morgan might be brought either by the club, or by the player, there may well be clauses in Hume's personal insurance which have prompted his legal eagles to advise him against playing until it is sorted. I can imagine the frustration for club, as well as player. It has been a long enough saga, but I hope it will be over soon now.
RE: Probably a legal-insurance issue The problem is Hume suffered a severe brain injury. The main question is could playing football at this level result in further neurological damage. This is a question for the doctor given the task of assessing him for insurance purposes. The insurance company may well decide not to offer insurance cover, could give cover but not for any problem which may arise due to head injury. My heart says I hope to see him back soon, my head says he wont be back.
RE: probably need some reserve team action once season starts By playing friendlies specially arranged for the situation.
As Davey says, in a Reserve League they're committed as to who they have to play, and when they have to play, and it isn't always ideal on either front.
Without that tie they can choose who and when they play, giving them a lot more flexibility.
It isn't just us who are doing it, by a long way.

Didn't Fleming get injured against Sheffield United too? It might not have been them, but I remember being at the game
Looking into it more ...it seems like it might be beneficial to us in the long run. Like you say, we'll now have loads more flexibility in terms of when and who we can now play. That article on the 606 site was a good read.
I reckon this development squad idea might be a better approach
