He didn't look good at all did he. Having said that none of them did and the football they played won't have helped any of them. Bet there spending abit on wages Clarke Harris, nombe, hugill, wilkes etc all players with plenty of football league experience and have gone for decent fees in their careers.

He's everything you want Cosgrove to be' a big physical no nonsense forward' lets hope his presence at the club helps Sam make the most of his natural attributes.

it's something called the griddy from the NFL in the states.
if you're into american football there's a series on netflix featuring football running backs. really good. one of those players does the griddy and it became really popular.
    Hope that helps!!

He looks a decent free transfer addition to me. Similar to how we got Nors. Took him time too, to get up to speed. But looks likely to get double figures. Ability to beat a man, not fast but no slouch either. Strong and knows a trick or two. Capable of scoring different goals. Very Norwood.

He’s a better player than Norwood.

I agree. I think we have a real talent on our hands if we keep playing him properly- long may it continue!

Should be a week's wages fine for doing any weird American celebration. Back in my day I remember getting bollocked in year 6 for all the team celebrating by rubbing our thighs like Vic Reeves in Shooting Stars.

I don't know what's weirder - the fact that we all did it or that we all somehow got told off for it.

Vic and Bob are my comedy heroes. That being the case I'm thinking you should have been strongly commended and lauded for doing the Vic thigh rub.
Thigh rub versus griddy. No contest.
Got to dash......the dove from above is on its way.

I don't understand the comparisons I'm seeing. He's not a target man, he's also not Norwood - he's a big, well built & powerful striker/winger. He's not Norwood but it's nice to have someone who has a pop and offers us something a bit different.

He's also not an alternative to Watters. He came on to replace Watters because we've no one else (there was a complete failure from recruitment to sign a striker who can lead the line), but in the system Clarke has us playing (which looks excellent, is genuinely different to what we were doing under Duff and Collins, and for which Clarke deserves huge credit) Humphrys would play in the role occupied by DKD on Friday. Or even where Phillips or Russell played. With Watters on the field we could play the ball down the line or over the top and his pace and strength meant he got to the ball, held it up and put us on the attack. The chances then fell to DKD/Russell/Phillips. And that's where you'd want Humphrys. You don't want him doing the job Watters did because that's not what he's good at.

Which is what Norwood did IMHO - ran Channels, put himself about a bit and made a nuisance. Like you say that's not Humphreys.
