to be honest with you Mario Kempes it was your post about giving Davey 'another chance' that prompted my starting this thread.
What exactly did you mean by 'give him another chance.'
What are your expectations of Simon Davey and team this season? If the answer is zilch then there's not much point in you going to Oakwell.

have you not renewed because you hate Davey?
This seems a very sensible and logical conclusion for you.

Why does everything have to be so black and white

I am not a Davey supporter and would have preferred a change - but I dont hate him
But even if I did I would still buy a Season Ticket

I support Barnsley football club - not one person I supported us long before he came and will be doing so long after he has gone so whats the big deal?

I didn't renew because it's so expensive driving up and down the motorway every weekend to sit there and get so frustrated by our one dimensional "manager"

I'll still go and support the team, but I would love us to replace Davey with a proper manager.

RE: Why does everything have to be so black and white

    thanks Farnham Red.
No manager is going to be liked by everyone and there will never be a time when everyone agrees with team selections/tactics etc. A lot of people were unhappy with Davey last season, thankfully many of these have renewed their season tickets. They will go to Oakwell this season to support the manager and team
However some people seem to have an almost pathological hatred of Davey and everything he does. I don't in fact have a problem with that.
What I can't understand is why those people are still buying season tickets and going to Oakwell because they are not going to be able to support the manager or the 'product' of the manager - the team.
So what are they going to be doing each Saturday afternoon at Oakwell, is there any point to their being there if they can't be supportive?

Its got nothing to do with liking Davey!

Its my team , they are in my blood, I cant stand Davey but I told you that before , the last time you started your stupid drivel. BFC are not Simon Davey`s property, it is not even P Cryne`s, yes he maybe the owner , but withouit the FANS of the club, what has he got ?
He has got a big plot of building land, thats all, not a club, because without us the FANS, BFC does not exist.

No-one is actually eating humble pie...

as as far as I can tell, there has, so far, been no reason to.

No. Not renewed, no championship quality strikers no change of gaffer.

However, he seems to be talking sense and feel that we as a club sack too many managers and continuity may not be a bad thing. Up the reds good luck.

Why not? Sounds logical to me. In the past there have been managers i've not liked, Paul Hart for example. But never would I stop going because of the manager. We go to support our team whoever is in charge. That's what football fans do.
