........... ‘one day we will get a manager who wants to be here’
    What about Hecky FFS !!!
    One of our own.
    Loves Barnsley.
    Didn’t want to leave.
    Was pushed out - FACT.
Great at developing young players (and Barnsley has a team full of them).
Signs for Sheffield United to do exactly that.

It works both ways though. Clubs, including ours, sack managers they don’t want when things go wrong.

There’s no loyalty either way, not much anyway, and if another club offers any manager more money and a stepping stone to much bigger things, I have no problem with that.

Any manager who’s peak ambition is to reach a lower half of the table championship team and maybe improve them a bit probably isn’t the right person to drive us forward.

We are a stepping stone club, it can be frustrating but it does mean we will get some decent talent through the door now and again.

Don’t care either way. Comes Across as a nice bloke GS but the football is painful to watch.

I feel about GS like I did about mark robins. Think he’s a talented guy, I like him, think he’ll have a good career. But it’s dull to watch at times. Like Robins I would be sad if he went but would not be devastated like I was when Stendel went.

I don’t know if anybody else remembers his press conference when he arrived, but I was a bit shocked at the emphasis GS put on how ambitious he was. I remember thinking to myself that he might not be here long.
