I live in Wales and have lived in Scotland...

And yes many of the locals would support anyone playing againat England.

But then many would support England, except against their home team

I don't see its much different the other way around, just read this thread. Not everyone in England are pleased to see Wales and Scotland do well.

I've got family on both sides.

And I was aware of the hatred from a very early age. My cousin, born and raisedin Kinross, had to take up Karate to defend herself at school because she has an English father. You'll find some welcoming people but there's plenty of the other stuff.

I'd send an e-mail to the French goalie and ask him what he was trying to do with the shot.

Scotland have beaten France by having 2 shots in 2 games and them both going in.

    Hilarious!

    RE: Blantyre??

Had the misfortune to live and go to school in Glasgow from the age of 11. The Barstewards spat at you or ignored you. The teachers made every excuse to pick on you. Left after five years when my father was transfered back to Yorkshire. That was in the 50s.
Four decades later I went to work in Fife for 4 years. Maybe it was the number of English workers on the site, but I never heard anyone mouth off against the English.

I lived in Scotland too, my best mate is still up there (a scouser). Listen, I had loads of Scottish mates & they were great until it came down to the old England / Scotland debate it's nothing short of racisim. My mate told me the daily record (jock paper) did a survey and it stated that the MAJORITY of scots definatly had a massive problem with the English, more than any other ethnic or religious variety!
I really went up there with an open mind, and found myself treading on eggshells trying not to upset anybody. I also attended a Scotland / England match at hampden, Hate, hate, hate! could not belive it. Would love to the same the other way round at wembley. They have a massive chip on their shoulder about us.

I’ve a cousin who moved to Inverness when he was about 8. Back then he made friends with a few local youths. He went round to one of their houses wearing his England shirts and his mate’s dad pulled a gun out and told him to take the England shirt off.

I’m often told by a Scottish bloke at work that it’s hard to forgive a nation that slaughtered so many of it people and land.

There's nothing quite like blaming the son for the sins of the father.
