The bus I saw, came through at green but had to stop mid junction due to folk continuing to cross the road when the pedestrian light was at red. The driver could hardly reverse back out the middle of the junction.
One bloke stood in front of the bus and started gesturing to the driver, before he was tapped on the shoulder by the the copper he hadn't noticed was stood right next to him.
This was when the barrier had just dropped and the folk crossing the road had nowhere to go anyway.

I don't and never will understand that junction. Why isn't there a footbridge over it when it is one of the busiest crossings in the town? Why did they choose to build the bridge for the station 100 metres up the road instead of putting the bridge at this end? Thinking about it the bridge makes no sense where it is now because to get to it people have to walk past the crossing anyway.

In fact haven't they wasted a hell of a lot of money by building the footbridge over the line 100metres away which subsequently meant that in order for things to line up they then had to spend a fortune building a bridge over the bus station too. If the rail bridge had been built next to the junction then the bus bridge would never have been built, they would simply have been able to create a cheaper covered walkway along the footpath down the side of the station.
