People are entitled to have an opinion (unfortunate in some cases), but results and performances on the pitch will decide the fate of Mr Hill and co.

And to give Hill some further credit he is quite right to moan about fans not giving him a chance - a lot of them havent. He's been in the job for 5 league games, is having to rebuild the team, is trying to change the players' mindset about their tactics/playing style and has virtually no money to do it with. He is not a miracle worker - if he was he would have his own religion. When he says that 1997 is being referred to far too much he's right, it is. When he says that some fans have unrealistic expectations he's right, they do. When he says that the players are being booed unjustly he's right, they are. The point he's basically trying to make is that he's only been here for an instant and a lot of fans are having a go at him far too early on in his Barnsley career. It's about time some Barnsley fans woke up and accept what he's saying rather than slag him off for being honest! If it's ok for he fans to slag him off why is not ok for him to put his case? Do some people want the guy to fail just so they can win some petty mind game...? Back the guy, give him some time and shut up!

Well the only thing I can probably say in everyone's defence is we're all Barnsley fans, whatever our views.....Nevertheless we all get ****ed off with things sometimes and for me I'm ****ed off with SOME of the fans' treatment of the manager. At this stage it's totally unjustified imho

Booing a team after two home games is just ****ing mental. Some people it seems turn up to be entertained, not actually support a football team.

And what I am saying is I am just as ****ed off at the unwarranted treatment the majority of fans are getting from the manager. Even when he praises the fans he then has a go at them later in the interview, I have never seen anywhere that he accepts it was a tiny minority that had a go, but that is what it was !
It is time he shut up and left it alone, because by continually harping on about something that happens at every single ground in the Country/World even, he is only fanning the embers back to life!
Time to draw a line under it and move on. Both sides!

    so thats that then yeah?

we have debated it for long enough, and its time to move on yes?
    great.
so can we all now build up a swell of good feeling over the next 2 weeks, and do our own personal best to give the team an atmosphere to relish playing in.. and surely thats in the interests of both the pro and anti Hill supporters. because if theyre gash again at home, despite no booing, and an encouraging crowd, then Keith wont be able to keep annoying or attacking the fans (not that i think he is, but some of u clearly do).

    What I find incredible is

the way some take Hill's words from an interview and micro analyse them, extracting all sorts of meaning and personal insult from them.

He's not a media savvy politician. He's a football manager and at that, for only five years or whatever. No doubt Hill will become more guarded in his interviews, which will be a shame because I enjoy his colourful ramblings.
