    Taking Man Utd as an example

    They get 80,000 every week and of course a significant number who are glory boy hangers on. I would guess though that even if they some how dropped down to the bottom tier of league fottball they would be getting 15k-20k every week. Its mainly about size of catchment area. of course Man Utd have a lot more because they are succesful and a lot more from around the country, but a significant number are what you would call "true" fans
