I don't have a problem with it, in all fairness. They're simply airing their views. I don't have to read those views, I don't have to agree with those views (which I generally don't). But the BBS is the perfect medium to present your interpretation of a variety of subjects, raise any concerns, let off steam, voice personal umbrage and angst. Folk simply have to separate individual opinion from fact. Also, it's a personal choice whether you give a poster any credibility, or feel they speak with authority.
Re: My opinion for what its worth What confuses me, is when people start saying about us losing 15 or so players. Half of those were either deemed rubbish, or were kids anyway, and plenty acknowledged last season our squad was too big, full of players not good enough. Danny was always going to have to start again, it's just a little tougher now we're a division lower.
How many of those 19 that have left need replacing? I'd say certainly not all 19, maybe 10? We've brought it 3, and I still think we'll see 5 or so more fairly soon, that's fine by me to get things started, we can then add to the squad with the odd loan if needs be. I don't want us to go back to last season and end up with a bloated squad of players who aren't up to
Bloated squad you know we would struggle to field a 5-a-side team... We are down to what 7 senior pros and the kids of those senior pros only 2 have played more than a 100 games. We need to have a squad of at least 15 players to be able to fill the subs bench. So as a bare minimum to try and at least fight relegation you would hope to sign 8/10 players and not just numbers quality as well. It's possible but very difficult to do this in a Couple of weeks getting them to gel this side of Christmas would be a minor miracle. Of the 3 signings. 1 has never played a professional game. One was playing at a level that is about the conference and Has played less than 50 games. We have invested in potential in those 3 and rightly so. We need to avoid the trap of heaping too much pressure on young inexperienced players as it could finish them. On the plays side it's more interesting than it's been for a while and we have a good manager.
Why are you bothered about Hill, I had hoped never to hear his name again after he fecked our club up, but it seems he is still loved by some fools on here. Let him go !!
You will have to face your demons madmark. Hill WILL be at oakwell trying to dismantle Wilsons hard work, you can't dip your head in the canal.
