FFS Phil, the man is ill and probably won't last too much longer. Nobody is saying he deserves sympathy but have a bit of compassion for a man who is very ill and a legend in the eyes of a lot of people.

What does he do with his time? For some reason he won't confirm or deny if he is actively seeking work.

Phil, read my post again. I said he doesn’t ask for or deserve sympathy but he does deserve compassion. He is ill and while it may be self inflicted it is still an illness that will most likely kill him. He had the world at his feet and because he had a flawed character he took guidance and advice from unscrupulous hangers on who were self interested and did nothing to help him. Some people have a self destruct personality and aren’t strong enough to say no and sadly Gazza was one of those people.

He doesn't need to. He isn't. Besides, would you employ him?

You need to do some reading on alcoholism (or get your mum to read something to you), it is not a choice for some, it is a mental illness. He may well be an adult, but he is an adult with a defective brain, surely you can understand that?

Nobody is defending what Gazza does or did as a man away from football but that doesn’t stop them being compassionate about the sad situation he is in, they are trying to make you see an different perspective about him. People will defend him all day long on the football pitch but you have a very narrow view of talent. You need to read peoples posts properly and not just react based on what you think they are saying.

No one is denying hes been an idiot off the pitch you stupid nerd.

I think most would agree with you about his off field actions.

    But

But your too thick and stubborn to acknowledge how good he was on the pitch.

What the **** has what his son thinks about him got to do with how good a player he was.

George Best was an idiot off the pitch which led to his alcohol addiction. He just couldn't stay off the booze no matter what he tried and it ended up being the death of him.

But i his day he was class on the pitch.

Are you really so dumb that you can't separate the two. daft off the pitch doesn't mean **** on it.

Theres no wonder your jobless if you come across as stupid in real life as you do this forum :)

I didn't know that Gazza has bi-polar disorder.

It's truly saddening to see him like that, the shadow of the man he was.

I really hope someone helps him properly before it's too late.

If you CHOOSE to drink then you CHOOSE to drink.
He's stopped for periods before so he can stop.

He could easily find things to do to help him. I'm sure Joy Joyce would help him and let him spend time to Newcastle with Academy.
Local lad went on to play for England and played for Lazio who where then one of the biggest clubs around i think.

I'm fully well aware that i might sound harsh or an kn*b head but it gives a different view but the views are real and things i do think.

I think we need someone to sweep the car park. Not sure if he can be trusted with that task though.

If you have a mental disorder like Gazza does, the resistance to alcohol is even stronger and uncontrollable.
