Not send Simon Davey an invite to the Crystal Palace for a pint then.

    I'll be there

Let's face it, unless there are financial constraints which make it hard to get a season ticket, most of us will renew.

Its in the blood, and no matter who is in charge, we will be there to cheer them on. Supporters are what we are, and I guess we will be forever. Even during the dark days of Administration, and with "he who cannot be named" being in charge, we turned up.

Premiership, or Conference North, the majority of us will be there come next August. We may look on it as a penance for sins in an earlier life, but win, lose, or draw, we'll be there.

You don't even have to be that old

2001/2002 to 2004/2005 was absolutely rank.

Difference is that we had different managers in those seasons

Which at least gave us the optimisim that the coming season could have been better than the previous. If davey is still in charge for his FOURTH season in a row then we will know they will be as **** as the last three

    Very True

I suppose I was referring to the days of crowds less than 2000 in the old 4th division. Some of today's players are world class in comparison. It's just a pity the other teams have good players too :D

    Steady on

That's 2 posts in a fortnight... you'll be promoted to "New User" soon.

I think "Guest" has had more input than you this month. :)

I am considering not getting one if we are in L1, I will pick and choose my games and start playing again on a Sat. But if the price comes down a lot I might get one still. Anything else and I am signed up again. I won't ever stop going because of who the manager is though.

If you look carefully it is 8-6 to me

    Just count the stars.

I've been busy. This retirement lark is finally catching up with me.

Aye, well don't stay on here too long, you'll get dragged into some argument about enamel badges, or hooliganism.

Enough to send a non-drinking man to the Thornley, or a non shopping woman to Meadowhall.

    Right, I'm off shopping.
    :D

    Nice to see you back.

I started watching Barnsley when we were in the old fourth division (1973/74). Why would I stop watching them now, at a time when we are in the second tier. I've seen good and bad, more highs than lows, sublime players and ridiculous ones. What is happening at any given time shouldn't make an iota of difference to whether you continue to support the club. It is the club as an entity you support; the individuals associated with it at any point in time are purely incidental, to be idolised or tolerated for a short space of time. They come and go; you shouldn't. Here endeth the lesson!

Well I won't be changing 50 years of supporting my Club.

I certainly wont keep away from Oakwell because of who of the manager is.

I'm too grown up to throw a childish tantram.

If you had supported the reds in the mid 60s you would realize how fortunate we are to watch football at the level we do and a lot of the credit has to go to Simon Davey.

even in the lower divisions i saw players who wanted the club to win, i saw commitment and alot of home grown players (even if not good enough) trying.
I have seen some great times and some bad but i am afraid that if we dont get a manager in to get the best out of the team we wount go anywhere all in all i am falling out of love with my club. Dont give me this " i will support them no matter!" so will i but i wount finance them until I am happy that my money is going into the managers pocket and he knows what to do with it.

    just my opinion mind

RE: Well I won't be changing 50 years of supporting my Club.

A childish tantrum? if you want to keep financing a manager that i would say 90% of fans know is crap then so be it. i dont think i am been childish or throwing a tantrum just becasue i dont want to finance him?

and this going back to the sixties if football was priced as it was then i think the ground would be alot fuller so no comparision can be made there.

I tell you what lets pay a rate for our season ticket based on the previous seasons achievemnts? based on goals scored /based on entertainment. I'll get me 50 quid out!
