RE: Nothing to fear Would we still have Academy status if there was'nt at least one UEFA 'A' award holder or Pro-licence award holder on the staff?Funnily enough I was talking to a bloke on holiday this year who had just been on a coaching course at Lillishall who said one of our Academy coaches was running some of the sessions ,I dont remember who he said it was but if we have someone who is qualified enough by the FA to be a trainer on their coaching awards then I would have thought they had the relevant experience and qualifications to be an academy coach
RE: I'm certainly not suggesting threats of violence There couldn't be any repurcussions from getting it out in the open if all you are doing is stating fact.
RE: And no doubt you are right too. I'm not worried myself as I know the law in this area. I don't know what's going on at the moment but would be very disappointed if the club was meddling in the running of this independent forum.
RE: Nothing to fear I dont think you will find any of our Academy coaches have the Pro-Licence it's a fairly new qualification and very few people have it, and in any case it's not an academy qualification. The pro licence is a managers qualification. Having the A licence isn't enough now for the top jobs in academy's.There is a A licence Youth Coaching award and also an academy directors award. You have to have the A licence before you can take the A Youth Coaches Licence. Qualifications now are much more specific than in the past. This year I have done a Fitness in Football Qualification and a match analysis course. Incidently you don't have to have the A Licence to be a Licenced coach. I am a level 2 ( UEFA part1 ) coach and I am a Licenced coach. A level one coach will also be licenced provided his course included Practical as well as theoretical assessments.
RE: Nothing to fear My point was really would the FA let us keep Academy status if none of the coaches were appropriately qualified, given that they are so particular about the courses they run
