I know from Ritchies time at Ooldham that he didn't like bringing new players in.

you heard a rumour which you chose to believe!!

This is what i know;

We offered contracts to 4 players which all turned us down, to me that is saying AR did want players.

Also in this public meeting were those the exact words they used they had problems with AR!!!

AR not signing players is a myth, Hayes, Howard, Kell, Richards, Devaney, Heckingbottom do people forget these players??

Precisely. I have mentioned it before, that Ritchie's apparant reluctance to delve into the transfer market was due to him wanting players who were better than those already on the books. With the little money he had to play with, this would have been no easy task. I can't see McCann being better than Ossie, Williams or Heckinbottom.
Knight, the jury is out (4 goals in 45 Championship matches, does not fill me with confidence). Wallwork and Reid, we would not be able to make permanent signings.

brought in 18 players from other clubs in 3 years, got rid of 11. That doesn't include loans.

Leon Knight is not the answer for me and for all he faults i would still rather have Richards in the team ahead of him, Richards has scored more championship goals in less games than knight yet he is the worse of the 2, he works harder yet he is the worse of the 2, he may miss sitters but he has got into the position in the first place, i've yet to see knight have a chance, yet he is the worse of the 2!!

I'd keep the other 3 because it others us options and competition but it is not going to happen!!
