Hard for me to answer as half my family are English, I was brought up there and would qualify to play for them if ever needed. So I will try and answer from the eyes of someone who feels strongly about it as I dont really. 1. At our football some anti Welsh stuff gets sung. Bristol City first sang about the Aberfan disaster in which a mining village got wiped out in a landslide and killed all the kids in the school, that along with other anti Welsh stuff gets sung still. There response is to sing anti English stuff. 2. The English FA dont want us in Europe because of the small Welsh League. 3. The anti Welsh thing imo is bigger than the Anti English thing, I have lived both sides of this and have seen it two ways. This question could be asked back, it has done many time along with the reminder that you shouldnt feel threatend by us. 4. Due to the actions of some English fans abroad Welsh tourists get tarred with the same brush when they abroad and have to remind bar owners etc "Im Welsh, you can let me in". (Speaking from experience here) 5. England seem to poke fun at the rest of the nations while accepting they are fine, this I have heard from Irish, Scottish and Welsh. 6. Its a myth really just some songs sung at football while both our boys along with others fight side by side for our country. This is no real Anti English thing. Some English take offence that we dont support them during football tournaments, I do support them as i want my Nephews to be proud of their team but many others dont as they are....Welsh, they support Wales, same goes for when Scotland qualify, they probably dont support them as they are Welsh. Yet when GB are in the olyimpics Welsh fans get right behind them as its Great Britian (not that theres much great left about it) Now, please remember, Im mostly guessing why us Welsh feel this way. A lot of people here already know how we feel about things cant remember exact words but yesterday was stuff like "they see coming over here as an invasion". So I am sure again this will be answered by people who havent a clue and taking a wild guess while at least mine is from expereience and some education. If you want to ask this question and get better answers perhaps a Barnsley message board isnt the best place to ask (sorry for pointing that out, would of thought it was obvious) try www.cardiffcity.co.uk where you have already recieved a warm welcome and will continue to do so. There will be no name calling, some healthy banter but as like the hillside, a warm welcome. Just like the last day of the season.
At least most of your women have tattoo's spelt correctly (thats more that can be said about my posts)
