Yes but Keith has signed these players.......and whilst I am not saying he is at fault for injuries, he does have some input with the training regime/methods? Keith Hill can influence how BFC perform, much more than any other indivudual on the coaching/playing side of BFC. And he is definitely influencing.........in a downward spiral. At times Dyson, I think you must be Sidney in disguise !!!!!
I've worked out what the problem is. Instead of pulling his head out of his arse and getting a clue, Keith has been too busy walking under ladders. Watch out for them bloody window cleaners Keith and spend more time on the training ground.
He does sign these players, these players that are 95% free transfers from other sides. They're free because their xkub don't want them. The point being we take on the 'dross' and hope to give them time to develop and improve. He does have an impact on training and it seems training Ian designed to get our players fitter than other sides so we can out run and out battle to make up for the lack of quality. That's backfired and he's even said so himself. He is influencing, that's why I said that he is obviously partly to blame. My whole point though is that I think we've been awfully unlucky at times. We play decent football. We're bringing young players through. We're breaking even. These are things that we should celebrate and Hill's got massive part to play. The path we're going down requires patience and bottle. If the board wanted something different they shouldn't have appointed Hill. By spending less than everyone else you're always at risk of relegation but that doesn't mean that Hills done a terrible job - just an average one. We stay up he's done a decent one. Mid table and he's a miracle worker. You reds.
I will agree we have been down on our luck at times this season. BUT......rather than take on the quantity of free or low cost dross, why not spend your budget wiseley on quality and then use loan market or Academy if and when injuries kick in? Etuhu, Kennedy, Edwards, Silva, Collins, Mido.................just a few examples of wasting money?
But then there are risks to that - the 'quality' or those with experience at this level have only signed for us on one year deals (Cranie, Mido, Harewood, Cwyka). That goes completely against the point of what we're trying to do. And as we've seen with Mido you throw your eggs in one basket. And as we've seen with the loan market it's not guaranteed... There's pros and cons to each - I still think it's the right way.
Name me one BFC manager who has not signed the odd dud player or players who simply did not fit in. In fact name me one football club who currently has a squad full of world-beters on it's books. And don't try saying Hill has signed more, because pound for pound he hasn't. Previous managers have spun.ked a lot more money than Keith Hill.
