How on earth have the EFL deemed this as non midweek night game! It’s a normal Tuesday, not on a bank holiday, and it kicks of at 7.45! So now it’s pay £10 rather than getting it for free as part of the season ticket with Barnsley! How can they justify this!
On a midweek day. Deemed part of the package offered to Reds Reserved+ supporters but now the EFL have decided to chalk **** on it.
My assumption is that it’s because most years at this time, there’s a Saturday game, and a Boxing Day game, which would both be 3pm kick offs and classed as weekends. Tonight’s round of fixtures is the second of those, with Boxing Day falling on a Saturday. Doesn’t make it right though
I find it disgraceful that the club have sent out this tweet with a link about how to pay a tenner for the match and hasn't even had the decency to explain to its most loyal supporters what has happened. I actually can't imagine what goes through their head to just completely pretend like nothing has happened. I know it was the EFL's decision but to not even put out a statement explaining to the fans that have already paid but instead just post something straight up asking for more money blows my mind.
I've defended the club a lot in this, I don't think there's really much they could do to make it right, but the communication hasn't been great.
They can put my tenner in the Christmas tip jar. I really don’t get what all the flipping fuss is about
Very, very pleased they've decided to do this (even though it doesn't affect me as I'm not Reserved+). I'm still sticking with the point that communication has been terrible, even if they had to wait to confirm this I still think they could have expressed their displeasure earlier but that's by the by now I suppose. The tweet I posted above has been deleted so I guess it was automatic.
Reserved Plus members will be compensated by the club. Just been announced https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2020/december/reds-reserved-ifollow/
Yes, just referred to it above. Very pleased with the club for doing the right thing here. I think they make a rod for their own back with the communication issues but as long as it all works out for the best then I suppose it doesn't really matter. Hopefully they will quickly contact the Reserved+ members so they know to buy it and claim back rather than missing the match through any confusion.
Nothing has been deleted. As I kept repeating over the last few days, we were still trying to resolve the issue with the EFL. We haven’t got anywhere and so the next option was to refund folk. As ever, we’ve looked after our fans. None of the other affected clubs have even addressed the issue. Enjoy the game, Reds.
Class from Barnsley. But this isn’t the clubs fault, so I’ll pay and won’t be asking for a refund! You Reds
Im Impressed looks like I will be watching the game after all. PS @YTBFC Well done I am sure you have had a significant hand in this. Im not desperate for the tenner back so would there be any way to "gift" it as a tip to the club staff - or is that just going to be too difficult to administer
Apologies, I thought for a moment it had but I think it was just a reply that had been deleted. I'm aware that you used a personal account to reply to some people on here but that is not the same as the club communicating a message to the fans earlier. I have already praised the club for now offering refunds. I couldn't give two hoops about what any other clubs do.
I won't be watching it. Can't be doing with trying to watch football on my phone or laptop it's w@nk.
