No I'm not a fan. I feel he goes about his job in a very unprofessional manner.

 

Add "Ferret" to that list too. I don't consider the publication of crude jokes journalism.

 

I would have thought if that was the sole intention it would be the biggest headline on The Chronicle's web site. "Barnsley Football Club to be sold - read all about it in this Friday's Chronicle." I can't see any reason why they would hide it if the story is just to sell papers. They certainly won't get in any more trouble for having the headline on the website than they would for printing the entire story in their paper, if it is all a fabrication.

That doesn't mean the story is factually correct, that's not what I'm arguing, but I do think it has been written in good faith.

Surely if this was a fabricated story the club would have issued a statement denying it by now, there's no way that they could not respond to something so significant being made up is there?

To be fair journalists at all levels rob. The Times printed a joke I wrote in Better Red Than Dead when we played Liverpool in the cup about Parky. Lifted the whole thing. I sent em an email tongue in cheek saying I was impressed by the thoroughness of their research finding a 10 year old fanzine. Again just jokingly I didn't give a toss but the journo went into super denial mode.

 

Apart from when you get hacked & it favourites / retweets stuff from very questionable places.
I don't think my niece looking at my retweet of dwarf porn was particularly great, although her new boyfriend is Chris Shuker.

I blame Andy Ritchie, whoever the **** he is.

If you do know him , then you obviously have a hidden agenda, because he is a really nice bloke! If you find him a lovely person, then I hope you never meet anyone that actually is a lovely person !!

 

My opinion is admittedly out of date since I never buy it. Might have a rummage in next door's paper in to see if I can find a recent one to have a look at.

 

I think he's a lovely person within his profession. In the same way I think ex Sky Sports commentator Andy Gray is a lovely person. I dont know either of them personally, however in my opinion both of them dont give balanced views, are way too opinionated and have an 'I told you so' attitude in the way they come across. I sometimes have the same feeling about Whitey when I read his posts on here. However I do enjoy his blogs as when he writes them he seems to give a much more rounded view than some of the rubbish he writes on here.

Whether they have the personality of a lovely person or not is a completely different thing. I'm unable to judge that as I dont know them. Andy Gray however is probably just an out and out lovely person.

like i said yest - i heard about this 2 weeks ago so its backs up what i heard but I didnt post it on here because:
1. I hadnt heard from the horses mouth
2. I didnt want to spread rumours
3. I didnt want to do anything to unsettle the team with stuff like this flying round (see what happened after birmingham thrashing last season)
4. People would just say its a load of tosh like they are doing here.

The chron aint gonna publish summat like that with no substance.

 

So the answer is just No you dont know and you disagree with what he has written.
So you have no idea at all about him, yet you call him a lovely person ?
Tell you what you should do, go and talk to him, tell him what it is you disagree with, debate these issues with him and then , if you still think he is a lovely person, you could say so without any bias !
Or you could just carry on acting daft !
