That's a tough choice - those two or Odejayi .......

........ I'll take Richards and Wright I think

I think even Odejayi is better.........and Macken and Hume are definitly better

and the strike force is the weakest part of the present team and its still much stronger than what we had only one and half seasons ago

We also now have far better goalkeepers, defensive players and midfields as well as the strikers

    Agreed YN.

Wright was utter crap...though I did quite like Richards.

Neither come close to Hume or Macken, and I agree that Odejayi is marginally better, and I still think he'll be a useful impact sub

RE: Why did we sign Tom, Dick and Harry

That excuse doesnt work though because when we get injuries he plays one of his favourites out of position instead of one of his supposed sqaud replacements

RE: Do we really want to go back to a Richards and Wright strke force

The fa cup run was a one off, never likely to be repeated.

The league, however is the bread and butter, fact is we were closer to relegation last season than the one before.

If you believe this is progress then frankly thats ridiculous.

How did Christiansen fail when he never played? ....

...... same for Johnson, Davey signed them and didn't play them, explain that one then Nudge.

I call a failure somebody who plays and is clearly not good enough, not somebody who is never given a shirt

    Maybe

Davey doesn't think Johnson is upto it like me. Too slow

RE: How did Christiansen fail when he never played? ....

Up to signing for us Andy Johnson had played over 300 games at Championship level and above. davey described him as the 'complete midfielder' - if Davey didn't know what he was getting with Andy Johnson then that says more about Davey than it does about Johnson.

If Johnson is such a bad trainer/bad influence/heavy drinker or whatever other allegation is thrown at him from on here, then why is he still at the club and on the payroll ?

We all want better players in, but if I was underwriting it all Davey would have some serious questions to answer. Especially as Cryne mentioned in the summer that Hassell in midfield needed addressing.

How much longer are we going to give Davey the get-out-clause that he's trying to build a team from the one left by Ritchie before we start questioning his judgement on signings and on how he manages them once they are at the club ?

RE: How did Christiansen fail when he never played? ....WELL

As it happens we judge individual players on what they can do during 90 minutes of a match

Thankfully Davey and his back up team have weeks and months and years with the same individual player to assess them

    Agree 100% ....

.... this policy of signing players then deciding they aren't what he wants will be his downfall, especially when he has no better options but still refuses to pick them.

The constant selection of Hassell before Togwell/Johnson and Odejayi before Christiansen would need some explanation if I was Patrick Cryne and the non-selection of Kozluk for a few weeks/months(?) was a strange one as well

Ithink it's fair to say that Simon is 'his own man'.

Let him get on with it. DeSilva can't get fit quick enough for me.

Nudger, if you can believe what you hear ......

....... he took a dislike to Christiansen because he didn't put 100% into his training, to the point where he would not pick him, even when we were desperately short of goals and in danger of relegation, and even left him out of practice matches when he played his first X1 against the rest the day before a match, apparently making him sit on a bucket on the sidelines to watch.

Do you think that is the way a player should be judged by the coaching staff on non-match days?

The lad was never given a chance so he did not fail at Barnsley and I hope he gets a bag full of goals wherever he plays and proves SD and his coaching buddys wrong

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.
    Best manager in the league?

Debatable whether he's even the best manager in the Davey household.

Davey like all managers in any job cannot afford to sit there with his bottom lip out

Can you honestly see this happening...................Davey thinking........I dont like him, he's not doing enough in training, and even though I know he can score goals and is better than what we have already, and even though we are desperate for a goal scorer I'm not going to play him on match days, instead I'm going to make him sit on a bucket

    ................ (babyhaha) ...........................

What sort of question is that?

We all know that the strikers werent scoring and yet he overlooked him because of his percieved lack of effort in training.
