I thought Millwall had the better chances/efforts myself and certainly watching the highlights would seem to back that up. Like I said I'm happy we won but it was a dull old game. And I'd like to see us as the home side playing one of the worst teams we are going to see at Oakwell all season not be too afraid to get at least one man in the box when we win a last minute corner. The effort was there not many glimpses of a turn around in form.

To be fair I won quite a bit of money on Jimbob scoring the first goal so that made me happy.

We only play one game at a time and we can only play what's in front of us. Saying "That was ok but won't win us other games" is a bit pointless since we've not played them yet.

    Once game at a time...

I never said he isn't a good player. He's a very talented player who is underperforming due to a lack of effort. If the club put up a video of the match i'll watch it back and count the number of times he tracks back (and that doesn't include strolling back 10 yards after the opposition)

Can you imagine the uproar if we'd have done what you said and they'd have gone down the other end and equalised? I doubt you'd be saying the same thing! It was a professional performance at the end. Kept it bottled up and it won us the game. Playing for a 2-0 win in our position is crackers, surely?

This lack of effort ******** is just that for good or bad the commitment to the team Mellis showed at Wednesday shows he cares about our team and winning.

Uproar. Trying to win a game at home. Shocking. Can you imagine the uproar if Shea had fallen over not fouled their bloke and they had broken away and scored neither happened so it's pointless to talk about ifs and ands.

We didn't play with such fear and trepidation last season did we and it worked out well. If we are to go down I guess I'd rather go with a bang than a whimper.

Jennings had two great chances in the box, only the keeper to beat (one in each half). There was the mix up that nearly saw COG in on goal, before Jim's tame effort at the retreating Forde. And the goal.

I can only recall the one clear chance for Millwall, that Steele saved brilliantly one handed. Their other efforts were a speculative drive from 25 yards that went wide, and a free kick I think that also went wide.

It was quite a dull affair. So what? We won.

As for wanting us to try for a second goal in the dying embers, rather than running the clock down, I can't ever agree with that. We're in the bottom three, playing a side that we're 5 points behind, with just injury time between us and a win that cuts that gap to 2 points and deals a relegation rival a hammer blow.

But aye, we should have piled men in the box and gone for a second.. :D

Come on Jimmy, tha having me on, ant tha?

You'd think he'd given the ball away endlessly, cost us a goal, and we were 3-0 down at half time the way SuperTyke has got stuck into Mellis this weekend. Have I missed summat? Does SuperTyke have previous with him?

I thought the lad did ok. I thought Dawson did even better second half. Nowt to moan at.

To be honest I think I've just got relegation fatigue and I'm finding this season terminally depressing. In some ways it's better to pick and choose your games like you do it gives you better perspective. In 30 odd games I'd like us to play well more than twice Reading at home and Brighton away doesn't feel like I'm asking a lot. Last season we avoided relegation by being positive, attacking teams and playing at tempo I'd hate to see us slide to relegation doing the opposite.

You were at the one I was at Jay. It was an absolutely massive 3pts, IMO never looked like letting one in (although I was still extremely nervy), can't see much to be disappointed with. All contributed.

I don't pick and choose, mate. Not at home at least. I've only missed the midweek home games due to work (two or three is it?), and the Coventry cup clash (went to Boro instead). There might be another one, mind. I'd have to check. But aye, I usually make our home games. Except when I don't. :)

Away is a different matter. I value my relationship, and employment. I'm not young, single and selfish anymore and so unless it's local to me I don't bother. It's a 3 hour round trip for me for home games as it is, via the train, so the days of me travelling to places like Birmingham or London are long gone. I spend these weekends with the missus instead, or working.

*Just remembered. I missed the game where Flicker was sacked afterwards. Birmingham was it? Still think there's another I missed actually as well. In fact **** it, tha reight. I pick and choose my games. :D
    Ignore the waffle above. :)

That settles it then. I too have watched the highlights and completely disagree with you. Always looks to move ball forward. He put in tackles and worked hard in the first half, if it had been Perkins doing it then people would be raving about it. Maybe he should dye his hair!

I'll say wtf the **** I want thank you Jay and Lil. We are not good enough currently to stop in this league. Scraping by against a pub side does not survival mean. Should Saturday be a 'turning point' or some other launch for an upturn in performances and results then great.
