We’ve just taken 7 points from 9 in our last 3 games, 2 of them being away. Even taking into account the disappointment against Charlton it was still a good week.

Good job we are so good away as we are absolutely woeful at home. Can’t remember a time when teams come to Oakwell and beat us with such regularity especially at league one level.

This happened last year when we got battered by Lincoln when the kids were playing.

Still can't believe anyone gets their knickers in a twist about this competition. It's a waste of time and the sooner its scrapped/overhauled the better.

    Just chill.

Barnsley have only lost one at home in the league this season. Winning is the problem.

I think the OP is spot on.. Donny had one player in their side from their win at Bradford we had non from our win at Shrewsbury.. So both played their reserves..And what a difference. They we're neat tidy and played with a zip.. And could actually pass the ball to their own team..
We had 7 players playing who you would call first team squad and not one of em would get a game for Donny's reserves..
Then only last week we have the board with the violins out saying we are putting millions in so please don't criticise us..
All those who played last night where professional or aspiring to be professional players.. they must have had a kick up the ar5e at HT because they did put a bit of a shift in at the start of the second half.. but on the hole they were out classed by Donny reserves.. Even Clarke has said that he expected the level player to be higher at a club like Barnsley..
I'm going to mention a name that cannot be criticized on here... Bobby Hassell.. How many players under his watch have come through and gone on to play 50 first team games..?
Our recruitment and academy is a shambles, we keep throwing away good money after bad.. Until there's proper evidence to the contrary I'll keep coming on here and pointing it out..

No they didn’t play their reserves they had plenty of players on the pitch that have featured regularly this season. They had played together far more regularly than the team we put out. If you think 4th in league 2 is better than 8th in league one, then I’m glad you’re nowhere near decision making at the club

Doncaster deserved to win yesterday but for a glorified friendly the tempo was high in the last 20 minutes credit to both teams for such attacking intent even when the result was not in doubt,

Nah, not having Clarke whinging that expected the standard to be higher at BFC, he's had a full preseason and over 25% of a season to be putting his mark on BFC, when does he start taking responsibility for his team and their performance.

I’d like to know who thought that changing the format to include mini leagues would improve its appeal. It was hardly attracting crowds without creating a situation where one team had nothing to play for. It’s about as appealing as having a third place play off after the final :D

    It's bizarre.

A straight knock out between L1 and L2 clubs was perfect.

Money money money though, although I can't see how anyone makes anything from the competition.
