The system is called Capitalism, run by Capitalists, for the benefit of Capitalists. They own the means of production, 1% own 50% of the world's wealth. That's a very small dog eating a much larger one. I can assume that under serfdom you'd have defended it as being "the natural order of things" too. It's curious that a disease killing a relatively small number of people can destabilise a system so easily by causing people to strip supermarkets bare in a matter of days and cause the world's biggest economy to inject $1bn into it with the UK Govt spending vast sums to help people out who stand to lose everything. Doesn't that concern you?
BUMP.... Given the recent behaviour at supermarkets from a considerable number of the population do you still agree with your above. That is nothing to do with a class war just selfishness and total disregard for others and basic lack of common sense and intelligence. Self fulfilling prophecy of shortages when the supply change was hithero not affected and according to the supermarkets would not have been. Idiots!!
Considerable = vast minority Situation = unprecedented Comparison = pointless And you know, some people are just frightened, and frightened people act irrationally. Some might be thinking "If I lose my job I won't have any money next month, I better go buy some food to last me. And yes, there's plenty of heartless ******* price gouging on ebay and amazon to make a quick buck. Elsewhere there's masses of good being done out of the view of the news coverage. But hey that doesn't generate clicks or advertising revenue, or suit your agenda to portray others as you'd like. Humanity is a complex beast. Most people are good people, even bad ones can be capable of acts of great ultruism.
If we can keep the death rate below 20,000 I wouldnt be expecting any resignations at all - it would be a remarkable achievement
Part of a party that has underfunded the NHS for over a decade. Let people carry on as normal, ignoring the actions of other Western European countries. Thought they were dealing with a different kind of virus for 3 days & were giving out the wrong advice. Even last night the tube was packed, people were out in pubs & then this morning we’ve got people stood next to each other in huge queues at markets & supermarkets. Apart from going round injecting people with coronavirus I’m not really sure how he could’ve handled this any worse
I think his now partial shutdown is much much worse than before. It doesn't protect the vulnerable at all but causes mass panic amongst those not at risk which is just stupid
I agree with that, but the opposition would have to invited to help by the government wouldn't they? Corbyn et al couldn't just walk into a cabinet meeting and start calling the shots. Meanwhile, if they do disagree with the governments approach, they have a moral duty to air that disagreement when policies have such huge impact.
IMO Political parties should be viewed as fads, things that come and go. Certain things are bigger than these fads and should have full representation Brexit, Corona, future of NHS etc. Things things should be thrashed out as a framework with representation across Westminster and then sitting parties only being allowed to tweak and amend this framework over time. In an ideal world it shouldn’t even be about parties appointing etc I would rather it was perhaps a blind vote in Parliament with those with the most votes sitting on the framework groups.
