I wasn’t Mcatee’s Biggest fan to be honest. I thought he was every bit as bad as Cole in many of the games from February onwards but it only seemed to be the ones out of contract who got any stick off our fans. I don’t think we’re getting anywhere near £5m for Phillips but I do think he’s a class above McAtee.
Yeah but what's wrong with that ehh lol, even though I know its a ridiculous figure to ask for. And I do agree with the annoying saying... "A player is only actually worth, what the other teams are willing to pay for him!".
Not sure on that mate, I used to say the same thing, but if Preston offered us 3 million, we think he's worth 4 million, so we keep him, so does that mean he's worth 4 million?
What other teams will pay though, is realistic, its a case of take it or leave it. But usually our own valuations as fans, are not!.
I think you mean Joel Randall....according to Wiki, the Bolton News reported that they'd paid £1.2million for him.
Ian Evatt was sacked with the club 9th in League 1, having lost in the play-offs the previous two seasons, with an average of 1.46 PPG. Barnsley are currently 9th in League 1, having lost in the play-offs the previous two seasons, and have an average of 1.50 PPG. The sacking of Evatt was met with an air of general inevitability given the scale of underperformance and indeed, he'd been the subject of mockery for months.
I’m not an expert on Bolton’s squad but I think it’d be fair to say that there’s hasn’t got significantly weaker during that period like ours has. Also, we have changed manager twice during the same period (only once of our own doing) so there’s far more of a ‘could someone else do better?’ argument at Bolton.
If we were to sack Clarke (which I think would be stupid) then I would look no further than Evatt as a replacement.
