I always thought we had the players to do well in this league. I'd be more gutted if we had sold pinnock Lindsay cavare Potts dougall thiam mowatt moore but I still think it will be a big loss in this league and at such a strange time for less than market value as per usual. Like you say we will see what happens.
Precisely, would be boring if we all had the same opinions! Although I’ve often found myself agreeing with a lot of your posts in the past haha
Where are you getting less than market value from? Bradshaw doesn't have any pace and has a fairly poor goalscoring record in 2018. Add to that his contract expires at the end of the season, and you're not going to see a huge fee. £1 million has been quoted. I've seen £1.5 million as well. Does that include a sell on fee if he does well? Probably as it's pretty standard these days. I'm not sure that's below market value.
Marc mcnulty Coventry to reading 2million Kayden Jackson Accrington to Ipswich 1.5million Jack Marriott posh to derby 3million (never scored above league one) It will cost us more than 1million to replace with a proven league one striker. We are looking to get promoted we have started the season very well is it worth breaking up the team for 1million when we owe Walsall a cut aswell.
But you're failing to recognise the contract situation That seriously devalues a player. Alongside his lack of pace, which always cost more, goals, and also is there huge potential to develop? There is some, but it isn't obvious. Look at Courtois to Real vs. what Liverpool and Chelsea have just paid for their keepers. Market value. If Courtois was on a long term contract you're paying a world record transfer fee.
That's the bit that puzzles me most. Why Millwall have made Bradsahw the number one target. If he's the best they can manage I'd be worried if I were a Millwall fan.
Hear what you're saying, but you can't just pigeon hole players into price ranges. All players have different attributes and there are other variables like age, length of contract remaining etc etc. Besides that, you can't always count on the quoted figures as accurate.
The last time he played in the championship he scored over 20 goals. He got over 10 goals last season in the championship in a piss poor side managed by two blokes 1 played Bradshaw up top alone the other left him out mostly. Danny ward got 12 for rotherham 2 seasons back when they went down from the championship and he took pens. Rotherham got 2million for ward who also had just 12months left on his contract.
I know that's a typo but Bradshaw has never scored 20 goals in the Championship. Even if you said League One, that was four seasons ago now. Strikers with pace can play up front on their own far better than Bradshaw can, hence are more versatile, hence worth more money. Same goes for physical presence. Don't get me wrong, Bradshaw works his socks off, but he doesn't have a physical presence. Market value is what someone is willing to pay. If we're closer to the £1.5m than the £1m then I think that's a wise piece of business and a fairly decent deal all round.
There's an English lad at Hannover, Jordan Brown, 21, centre forward. Maybe Stendel has his eye on him. By the way, surely Wednesday should be in for this lad:- https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/can-tuna/profil/spieler/183294
Yeah you know I meant league one and okay you think it's a good idea to sell a striker who has started every game for us so far for 1million leaving us with 2 strikers one who only got promoted from the 23s this season, also at a time when only the loan window is open... I don't we will have to agree to disagree. I'm not one to knock the club all time and they might have some man city 18 year old whizz kid ready to sign could be Fletcher could be ugbo time will tell.
I know from what Paul Conway said in Redfearn's Bar two weeks ago that we have loan players lined up to replace any outgoings where the offer was too good to refuse. I imagine, although we're all guessing here, that it's a combination of the offer and the desire of the player. Millwall are signing a striker despite the window being shut. Who's to say we aren't doing the same? The signing happens in January, but it's still a permanent deal. Also when comparing Bradshaw to Ward at Rotherham. It was £1.6 million and Huddersfield were due a 50% sell on fee. Those push the price up significantly as well. Market value again.
Like I said you think it's good business I don't we will have to agree to disagree. We may bring in someone who I think wow we got a good deal there but at this moment in time I don't think losing Bradshaw for the rumoured fee at this stage in the season is good. Just my opinion. I thought we were a striker short before Bradshaw went.
I'm sure Vic will fancy it but he is only 20 and it's his 1st season after coming from the 23s let's not put too much pressure on him. On the other hand if you good enough you old enough so we will see might have no choice.
