FAO Johnny NoCoachman, who said about Devaney last night:

'You cannot coach this sort of shooting, because it is a natural thing'?

Strangely enough I was chatting to a mate on the train and

he said he was out for a meal in Cullingworth last year and who should be in there having a meal but Rick Holden and some of his friends. He said that Holden and his friends chatted quietly, ate their meal, had a few drinks and then left.

    Boring but true.

I'm still waiting for an answer!

I'll give you a clue, his initials are SD.

I have backed SD since he took the job and will continue to do so until he is gone. Even from his 1st game you could tell what he was bringing to the club. Not exciting, free flowing football as that was not working under AR, but defensive tactical awareness that can give us a chance of winning games. I believe that if he had some better players to work with in his defensive unit we would be a top half team, it is only individual errors that costs us in most games. The board have to back him in the summer and let him get some more players in of Nyatangas quality. Starting with the full backs. Add another striker and a left sided midfielder (so Howard can stay in the centre) and we can have a decent championship side next season. May not be the prettiest football at the moment but that will improve as the squad improves individually.

    yes of course

because keeping us up would be a massive achievement and he should be given his chance if he does it. and to be fair to what shephard is saying if we had had davey's form all season we would probably be looking comfortable by now. So why not give him a full season and see what he can do?

He didnt really spend much. We got 250k for McIndoe which we spent on Ferenczi and the other players we bought (McCann and Mattis) cost about £150k in total. With all the money from the Flinders deal and the extra revenue from this season surely there will be some decent money available in the summer.

i think we will go from strength to strength under his management, for me ha has had an inner confidence from the start(unlike us)that he would keep barnsley up this season and he,s shown that he has no favourites, which is how it should be!
