Gone from signing ex Barcelona players in the premier league to possibly signing Barnsley players in the championship. I feel a “teams like...” hashtag coming on.
We may find abit out on Wednesday, if he is off then that will be his chance to say goodbye to the town. I’m not saying he’d come on the mic and say si thi. But body language is usually a big give away. Personally hope he stays now after the year he’s had, I wasn’t his biggest fan last season admittedly but with some of the performance we’ve seen from the lad this year he fully deserved another shot at England’s most competitive division. Whether that be with us or against us we shall soon see.
I've only ever seen one bit of personal abuse on here, and that was the away game at Oxford when Lindsay tried to shield a ball for 30 yard instead of putting it into row z it wasn't even Davies mistake. He did get criticised abit last season but with a consistent back four he has had a great season hope he stays.
He wasn't singled out. Plenty of other players were rightly criticised and this year they have been praised.
He got a lot of stick last year, but the whole team was crap and the back 2 only settled eventually and was chopped and changed a lot. A keeper is only as good as the guys in front of him and the communication/link up between them. For me, he had one poor season compared to 4 good ones.
So we've gone from him being singled out to getting more than his fair share, so you're moving in the right direction. I would say he has been praised more than any player this season.
Person sat behind me calls him a 'numpty' at least 5 times a match and sarcastically comments any time he makes a save.
Could be worse, there's someone behind me that for every player that looks 'similar' (even if they don't, really) he has one he likes and one he doesn't. Everything good either of them do, is attributed to the one he likes, everything bad is attributed to the one he doesn't. Some examples: Hated Potts, Loved McGheehan. Hates Thiam, Loves Cavare. Hates Pinnilos, Loves Mowatt. It's hilarious to hear him praise Cavare's goals and corners, or Mowatt's throw ins, but criticise Thiam defensively. He also thought Adam Armstrong was the best player he's ever seen, but couldn't understand how we'd got any money for Hourihane. No, I'm not making this up. Yes, I wish I was.
