Took a Man City fan to his first Barnsley match. His words as we walked back to the car were 'it would have been a travesty if Barnsley hadn't got something out of the game'. Thought we kept the ball well but lacked a cutting edge, but after they scored I don't really recall them being in our half. I cannot agree with your comment.

I think that's a bit strong personally. I don't think we created enough chances for it to be a travesty if we didn't pull level. We had plenty of the game, plenty of the ball and you can certainly make a case for us deserving the draw, but if Palace had held on you could easily make a case for them deserving the victory with a well disciplined away performance.

We're not creating enough chances at home for my liking. Any width we have is coming from the full backs who are loath to take their opposite number on, fearing they'll be left exposed if they lose it, so the ball is constantly played in front of the oppositions defence and we create very little.

I agree with you to a point, didn't seem to have any urgency until the last ten minutes but a deserved point .

They hit the inside of the post in the second half, albeit a bit of a fluke shot/cross

Fair point, it May be strong, (i do have the most negative **** sat behind me which may have rubbed off) but take away that one moment of brilliance, I'm struggling to think of anything that speroni had to do. And it concerns me that we can have 70 percent of games for example and create next to nothing. But I will say, we didn't give up either.

    Not according to BBS stats

More possession, more chances more on goal and fewer fouls committed. Sounds like we were the better team.

I was dreaming then when one of their lads had a speculative chip from their right than that had Alnwick beat and bounced off the upright and across the line before being cleared? That was in the 2nd half.

At 0-2 and our forwards in 'couldn't hit an elephant's backside with a banjo' mode we would have been well and truly beat had that gone in.

Can't agree im afraid, thought we took a while to wake up, and when we did we were a goal down. Thought we controlled the game after that but just lacked that quality up front. We identified early on that their right hand side was pretty weak and tried to exploit it. Bringing Done on was a masterstroke and I thought Done and Goldbourne linked up well together. We got the ball into the box and I thought Harewood was very unlucky not to score in the first half. For some reason in the 2nd half we decided to attack more down the right, where Stones was getting the ball and was being offered little in the way of support, it wasn't until we got Perkins on the ball that we started to push forward. Thought the game passed Mellis by again, the lad has bags of potential but rarely seems to show it, very frustrating player. Thought the game was epitomised by Perkins winning the ball on the edge of our area and bursting through the middle, when he set off he was about 20 yards behind Done and Mellis; the passage of play ended with Perkins forcing a throw in about in line with the 18 yard line, by this point, he had Done under his feet, refusing to make best use of the space ahead of him and Mellis was about 15 yards behind him offering nothing. I thought our back line was solid and apart from his terrible distribution, I thought Alnwick did his job, although I still feel if fit, Steele should be in goal. I personally wouldn't have brought Dawson off, I would have sacrificed Mellis for Rose, and tbh I think Cywka would have done a better job than Etuhu but credit to Keith who was brave enough to make 2 first half subs to try and win the game. Harewood is a tryer, ran his bag off again, but rarely got in a goalscoring position, in desperate need of someone if Davies is going to be missing for a while because otherwise I can't see where the goals will come from. How long till Mido's ready?
