Zzzzz zzzzz Another 'look at me the attention seeking moaning I hate Barnsley' post Turn it in will you!!! Bring back hemsworth for **** sake!!!
You obviously know him I don,t but I,ve never known him be positive once.I would like him to just say what he,d like them to do instead of constantly having a go at them. I actually agree with what they are doing it needs a complete clear out and start again with young players that will give their all and are not tarnished with negativity all the time and actually want to progress there careers.
What would I like them to do? Sign about half a dozen players in the next three weeks for a start. As it stands we don't have enough to fill a match day squad. I will tell you now for a cast iron fact - if you are expecting to take a load of youngsters from the academy, put them in the first team and expect to be competitive then you will be sorely disappointed.
Conan..I think we would both agree,we rarely agree!!....I can't though argue with anything you've said mate...I was relatively happy we'd retained most of what I consider our better players, but when I hear we can't 'sign players until we lose some' that's worrying especially when the ones we're losing are the ones we need to keep....and as to starting the season without a right back after releasing Hassell...that is beyond a joke. One other thing though Conan..Whitey said 'you pay out of your arse supporting the club' what is he insinuating there?...or am I just too old to know what practises are fashionable with you young uns these days?
It will be right, those three weeks haven't happened yet. No point in worrying about stuff that's not done.
If we have made no signings by this time next week, then I would be concerned but this could turn out to be best strategy for the club going forward. If we are clearing the decks and cutting the wage bill why do half a job. I get the frustration from fans, but we will not be relegation fodder come the new season. COG and Steele both very good servants who gave there all for BFC. But both on championship wages, and club will not fold now they have gone. Likewise if Craine and Kennedy join them. COGs departure may result in change in style of play, less long ball and hold up play. And addition of a Pacey striker to join up with Hemings in attack. Although COG would run through brick walls, lead from the front. His composure in front of goal was a concern e.g. Missed penalty and chances. Sad to see him go, but if his departure means Danny has money he will bring in quality replacement. Don't hit the panic button. We have signed three highly rated promising young players so far and more to follow. DW has a good scouting network and has signed some quality players in his career. Not happy, but be patient. We probably have several trialists on tour with us
Im a Fan = Proof is i go to the games Im a real fan = Proof is i have a season ticket and go to some away games Im a Real Barnsley Fan = Proof is i go to games, some away, have a season ticket and moan like F**k about our club and other fans opinions HTH
I have a sideline as a rent boy to pay for my season ticket but keep that to yourself please. The people who are negative are concerned about things that have already happened or haven't happened as hoped. The people who are trying to be positive are clinging onto the hope that something might happen in the next fortnight. I can't see it myself.
It's understandable that people are down and depressed at the moment. We've just sold/released our two best players, and if you own a good pair of baggy cargo pants you'll be able to fit our remaining squad in your pockets. But the reason you're getting so much hassle is because you've been saying the same for months, when there was no need to be so down on the club. You had no idea how things were going to pan out, none of us did, and, like the rest of us, you still don't. It doesn't matter what the squad is like now, three weeks before our first game, it matters what the squad is like when we play that first game, and, even more importantly, what the squad is like when the transfer window shuts at the end of August. We'd all prefer to have the squad assembled already, we're disappointed that it hasn't been, but just because we haven't signed the players yet, doesn't mean we never will. You say you can't see it. Do you really believe we'll not make any signings before the big kick off? Tell you what, if we haven't signed at least three players before our first league game, I'll donate £25 to Barnsley hospice. Are you prepared to do the same if we do?
The whole point of everyone renewing before 30th April was to completely avoid this situation. That's how it was justifier and sold to us. Help us recruit early. If this was actually dependent on us offloading the high earners, then these claims/promises should never have been made as we were never in control of our own destiny. Realistically we we never going to be able to move these players on until very late June at the earliest so our recruitment could not have started any earlier than any other year. False promises as far as I'm concerned. As I said last night, I'm not really in favour of betting against the club and I actually think we could sign three players in the next weeks. It just won't be nearly enough.
3 players would at least mean we could field enough subs. Glass half full and all that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
your 25 quid is safe jay,of course we'll sign three players over the next few weeks, however I've got a feeling these will be made up of lower league players and anybody that will have us.The top and bottom of it is money or rather the lack of it,that why all our players have gone so god knows who we can actually afford to employ.I don't for one minute see it as building for the future,we are living month by month in my opinion and as our finances drop so will the quality of the squad,i see no other way of looking at it,no point living in cloud cuckoo land.
No it's not. At no point were people promised transfers by a certain point. All that was said in the renewal letter was that often we are ending up a month behind clubs in terms of recruitment and that early renewal would help. And it has...if we'd been waiting until 1st July date before we knew our season ticket revenue, then had to work out How to move players on we'd be even more screwed. As is, we've worked out were need to move players on and aren't behind other clubs in terms of recruitment. What more could you want? If they could have got those players out earlier, they would.
You of course are entitled to your opinion but I totally disagree. This time next week lets hope them revolving doors of Ben's have gone into overdrive
