If Ward goes to the Blunts, I'd make a bid for Sharp

    RE: Dont go then pal.

I've been supporting BFC for more than 50 years and only one other manager has filled me with as much despair as this one has. Probably before your time. Mel Machen. He was as clueless as Davey is and he drove the fans away from Oakwell. If something isn't done about Davey soon, he will do the same.

Strong words - 'fills with despair'

I cant see why Davey fills you with despair. Ok we arent setting the world on fire but steadily improving league position under him and I still think he has improved the team from the one inherited under Ritchie. Plus I bet you were not 'despairing' when we were at Wembly.

I cant believe you think that Davey is worse than Nigel Spackman and Paul Hart who were really terrible managers.

No, but at the same time does he want a striker sitting in his reserves slowly losing value and taking a large wage home every week?

If he came to barnsley he may get back amongst the goals and we could pay 50% of his wages...

He may have improved the squad but the results are no better generally.
Yes I was happy with the 2 freak results that got us to Wembley but what happened when we got there.
I don't think he is any better than Spackman or Hart. As you keep saying we have a much better squad now, so why don't we get much better results.

I would imagine we'd struggle to match his current deal

Blackwell stated the other day that several players were signed up on unrealistic wages. Beattie was obviously one of them, but it was never going to be a proble moving him on.

People such a Billy Sharp are a different matter, because it's hard to see who is going to take an unproven player on high wages?
