but we have given the rest of the league a head start over us at what point do we say enough is enough and give a new manager the best possible chance to keep us up? now? halfway through? three quarters?
RE: it isnt 'quite' early Yes, you may be right about that of course. Of course it's possible that nothing changes and we'll keep on sinking like a stone. But you can't know that for sure, which is why the "WHEN we get relegated" folks are pissing me off.
omg you guys you lot have bad memories how many times have we been in this position befor and pulled through? abit of posotive tinking never hurt anyone maybe yes the problem lies with davey and i dont want to get into that because im not sure where i stand on that one but we need to remember we are a quarter of the way through the season. if we had 5 games left yes i might be worried but not at the moment.
RE: but we have given the rest of the league a head start over us I'm not against sacking Davey... although I'm not sure if sacking him would solve the problem either! I'm just saying that it's way too early to give up just yet, there's still a lot to play for. I know it's an old cliché, but the club needs our support more than ever in times like these!
Well a lot of other posters .... ..... do know where they stand, so less of the OMG, knob. They are entitled to an opinion.

yes but in what way should the club be supported? blind, head in the sand style happy clapping regardless of results and performance? booing and chanting for the managers head at the game to get your point across? Or as Oakwell is suggesting, voting with your feet and not going in order to force PC to remove davey from his position? The problem is that Davey doesnt seem to be able to change things and PC seems unwilling or unable to replace the manager so as supporters what options do we have?
That's not very logical.... ... last season at a quarter in we were top six. I don't remember being in the play offs at the end of the season.
I'm very concerned about our position and I'm no fan of SD but the fact we are bottom 3 at the moment does not mean we will be there at the end of the season.

apology accepted but i never said people are not entitled to there oppinions im laying down facts we have got off to a bad start loads of time and pulled through why s this any different and i just dont know about davey.... on one had get rid hes crap... on the other what good would it do...... maybe spark players into motion for a new manager for a couple of weeks but if the quality isnt there it doesnt matter who the manager is

Maybe you should have watched tonights match. The bottom 3 would be a fecking bonus after that performance.
Apologies - your'e obviously blinded by the Donny wonder-result.

You have a good point there So fair enough I guess! However, the team morale must be very low at the moment, and that must be in an important role at times like this. Our support could be that extra-something that lifts the spirits and makes us win again - optimistic, I know, but booing the players off the pitch is hardly going to make things any better either! Of course you can't expect people to cheer and give the players a standing ovation after a 3-0 defeat either. "Or as Oakwell is suggesting, voting with your feet and not going in order to force PC to remove davey from his position?" Actually, that's not what oakwell suggested. He said that he won't go to any more Barnsley (home) matches if we get relegated... regardless of who's the manager apparently?!
I did watch it... and we were awful... ... as i said did we end up in the playoffs last season ?
You cannot possibly state that we will go down just as last season we could not state that we would get a play off place.
I did not want Simon Davey in the first place as I was a Ritchie fan and I'm not saying that we should not consider a change of manager but what were your views this time last year ?

RE: I did watch it... and we were awful... Dave
This time last year, we'd had an"easyish" start on paper, and sure enough it got harder.
This time, we had a more difficult start, but it only looks like we are going to get worse. Its hard to believe our tactics tonight could be worse than previous games this season, but they were. That was absolute garbage. And season-on-season improvement looks a long way wide of the mark at this stage.
If he goes now, then maybe, just maybe, a spark might carry us to safety. Safety ? After three fecking years back in the division, we're still eyeing safety.

RE: I did watch it... and we were awful... This division is getting harder though, there are loads of teams with a lot more money to spend... I'd be happy to support a mid-table <-> just-above-the-relegation-zone team for a few more years, although of course anything better than that would be great obviously! And I thought you were supposed to be the pessimistic one here?!
i have been for the last 22 yrs so dont fecking judge me on the premier bandwagon. the club will die if we get relegated and why should i pay my hard earned money to watch a team that has not delivered ?
RE: Why? no i wount go supporting another team. none of you morons that go on about me turning into a man utd fan know anything about how much i love this club but i am afraid at some point you have hold your hands up and admit they have lost your interest.
RE: You have a good point there i should have really gone more in depth with my origional post but i got so pissed off i could'nt be arsed. if we get relegated trying with a decent manager i dont think i would have even considered putting a post like that up but i am afriad this club is in the **** and if we go down we will not imo come back any time soon. The manager imo is not quite up to it but who do we get? the club needs to splash some cash and pay for an experienced man to have a go.
