It did say Setanta on the upright corner though...

... but the half-time ads and stuff were all Sky Sports this and that.

Don't know how that works then :)S)

they were better than us in all areas of the park

a 17 year old had JCR in his back pocket, our attack was no match for their defence, their midfield made ours look non existent and our defence conceded three goals and gifted them numerous other chances.

4 or 5 nil wasnt out of the question to be honest

Poor first half, we really needed to step up in the second, but we only got worse.

That performance really exploded the 'better without Howard' myth. How much did we get for him again?

The first goal was a shambles - a real speculative punt up field that we should be quite capable of dealing with. I don't blame Muller, he did the best he could with the shocking defensive mix up.

The second goal was awful. The defence were static, we stood off their winger and allowed him to to get to the line with a predictable turn inside (he got away with the exact same move twice in the first half, but we somehow defended the crosses), nobody moved - everybody froze in terror as he cut the ball back, nobody attacking the ball, nobody tracking their men, space everywhere, all our lads ball watching. Very poor and not good enough for this level.

They should have had another one on the front post but Muller pulled off an amazing reflex save at point blank range.

Third was academic because we were never going to equalise, even at 1-0 down. Same shambolic defending as the first goal. They don't know what they're doing.

We had nothing in midfield - no bite, nobody looking to mix things up, pressure anyone, show a physical presence. Our passing was poor. We had nothing up front at all. The defence was a shambols. The whole thing is a complete endictment of Simon Davey - the players as individuals have already shown they can play at this level - Davey isn't capable of keeping them organised as a unit, he isn't capable of delivering consistency, and I don't care what anyone says - it doesn't look like he has the dressing room to me (nobody out there today was playing for their shirt or manager).

The rumour about Howard being the problem, and the old suggestion that now we have that stone out of our shoe we'll be fine, looks like ***** to me now. We needed that quality so badly today. All I could think about was 'Where are we going to replace that quality for £500,000?' - answer is nowhere, because nobody other than us is are stupid enough to go for that bull **** deal in the first place. We got taken for mugs. £2,000,000 at least to right that wrong.

Relegation written all over us as things stand. Davey out.

Dont forget the 4 grand a week wages we are saving. £50,000 we save upto January. We are in the financial **** again in my opinion.

I'm afraid I can't agree with all of that

But I think we did play well on the second half before Palace scored their second, and with some luck we could have got back into the game.
It was all over when Palace scored again though.

Clown, if we play like that we will be down. I watched the game with some friends who support Leeds and it was embarassing. Leon and Devaney will never challenge for a 50/50 ball Defence is shaky at best and if we played all night yesterday we would not of scored. Anderson is a good player but was very poor last night.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Think you watched a different game mate. We made a very average side look good.

we played some good stuff in the 2nd half but we need a goalscorer

1 goal scored on the road is dreadful, we dont have anyone who can finish at the moment and players like Hume and Macken are good players but lacxking in confidence big style. I dont think we need to panic and we certainly dont need to sack anyone.

Bring back Kyel Reid and a poacher up front and we'll be ok.

    A balanced view

I didn't watch it but my mate, who is an occasional reds fan and usually gives a balanced view, tells me 3-0 flattered Palace. He also said we never looked like scoring (as usual). Therein lies the problem. Not enough happening at the right end of the pitch putting pressure on everyone at the back.
