So you’d rather have a 400 game journey man from lower levels than a 125 game Championship level player?

3 full seasons at football league level is experienced. It's exactly what we needed and what we could afford at the time. So yes, it is.

I'm not sure what your point is with Jordan Rhodes or David McGoldrick, as they're players we've never been in a position to sign due to budget constraints. It's absolutely nothing to do with their age or level of experience.

Exactly how many games do you expect to get out of expensive older players with 10+ years of first team experience? Rhodes is 33 and McGoldrick is 35. Maybe 1-2 seasons? And both have missed plenty of games already.

He was fantastic for Plymouth, became their club captain and the season before we signed him he scored 9 goals from midfield for a team that finished 10 is great.

We signed a good young player and I remember people being excited when we did.

You could have both, but it’s not what you said.
You said higher numbers over lower numbers not both.
So would you prefer 500 games in L2 or 150 games in Championship?

The first thing I would change is the ownership of the club, cos I wouldn’t want to own it! Thankless task and a money pit. Problem is, I’d be fussy about who I’d sell it to and, off the top of my head, I can’t think of anyone who’d fit the bill. I was certainly far happier when John Dennis or Patrick Cryne was in charge, but is there any Reds fan wealthy enough (and daft enough to be happy watching his wealth gradually disappear) to fill that role?
