Good idea. I'm going to stalk a fat ugly bloke who I don't even know. Actually - that sounds like Jay. I'll call the spotty Scottish lad. I bet he's been a high calibre stalkist in his time.
The point of my post.... .....was to educate people that the hostility towards Nottinghamshire isn't just about 1984. Anyone seeking to make excuses for them should remember that they have done this historically. Spineless folk. There must be a gene for it.
Presume your tongue is stuck so far into your cheek that... ...it's almost showing on the outside? (chinny)
move on... it happened whats important now is winning this match, incessant shouts of scab aint goping to help. The average age of away fans means that the vast majority will not have beenm involved anyway.
In that case.. does that mean anybody attending an England Germany game is honour bound to give it the dambusters theme all the way through?
Not all Notts miners scabbed, the ones that didn't and stayed out had it really hard. I'm sure they have mixed feelings about the scab taunts.....maybe the announcer should say over the tanoy...."Can all those who scabbed please occupy the rows directly adjacent to the East Stand". Least we'll know who to direct the venom towards?
And what folks chanting "scabs" whilst spraying spit all over their fellow supporters forget is ... that it has very little to do with football ... that very few of the folks it is directed at even know what it's about ... that only a tiny minority of the people within that crowd will have even beeninvolved, let alone "guilty" of what they are accused ... that it is unpleasant for all concerned, particularly families and that the energy wasted on that would be much better directed at cheering on the Reds. IT'S A FOOTBALL MATCH NOT A PICKET LINE
Nottinghamshire is historically cowardly.. I'll give you a few numbers and you can sit and swap stories of how brave you are with 2 Mercian Regiment..
RE: Nottinghamshire is historically cowardly.. I know a few RAF lads that would like to take part in that 1 too
I like your mild (if somewhat repetitive) form of abuse. People on here could learn alot from you. (P.S....you weren't actually a scab yourself were you? apols for possible incorrect deduction (wicked) )
RE: And what folks chanting "scabs" whilst spraying spit all over their fellow supporters forget is Your first point is debatable if we try to promote the club as being part of the community. The next two are just plain wrong - it's like saying that most of the Barnsley fans won't know what it's about and their families weren't involved. "Unpleasant" - don't even need to address that one!
It took you three posts before you started with personal abuse, I would have expected more maturity. "Nobody would condone that" - except me cos I'm loyal to me roots. Loyal to me a**e!
RE: And what folks chanting "scabs" whilst spraying spit all over their fellow supporters forget is OK let's look at them in order:- ... that it has very little to do with football - so tell me how chanting scabs & spraying saliva over fellow fans has anything to do with BFC being part of the community? You telling me it's ok & is going to help community spirit? Cos where I sit it frightens the kids. ... that very few of the folks it is directed at even know what it's about - Given that a high %age of fans in the away end will be of an age under 25 years, and possibly not that up on their history, then alot won't know what it's about. Some will recall the strike but won't remember the ins & outs, and obviously some of the older ones will know all about it... ... that only a tiny minority of the people within that crowd will have even been involved, let alone "guilty" of what they are accused - how many of the 3,000 or so Forest fans do you think will have actually been "Scabs" then? ... that it is unpleasant for all concerned, particularly families - FACT!!!! It's unpleasant for most right minded people to have an angry bloke shouting in your ear / swearing & being aggressive... just who does find this a nice experience? and that the energy wasted on that would be much better directed at cheering on the Reds. FACT. That's why we go to football. By the way, I'm not saying for a minute that it should be forgotten.... I just don't think it should be re-lived at a football match.
