    Totally agree,the lads have to let there hair down and saturday night after a match is an ideal time.Unfortunately we have a minority of players who think saturday,sunday and the odd night midweek is acceptable and as proffessional sportsmen it isn't.

    I would find that very hard to believe. Why would a footballer do a runner from paying a £25 fare?

    Shocking if true, but maybe a case of a taxi driver knowing who they are and giving them a bit of hassle.

    I have no idea if it's true or not, but

    The fact that they are pro footballers certainly doesn't exempt them from such behaviour. Far from it.

    would be impossible because I don't know. However the 24/25 year olds are Reid, Howard, Austin, Kay, Richards and Hayes.
    Oh and they might be wrong anyway - have I missed anyone?

    I've read the report again and can't find any comment that those involved had been drinking, never mind being drunk, that doesn't mean that they weren't but it's amazing how people jump to conclusions and read things that aren't actually there.

    A Barnsley FC spokesman added: "No players have been charged, no players have been disciplined and the club is not commenting further on this matter."

    For us non legal types, doesn't the fact that they've not been charged indicate that they weren't guilty? For something as simple as assault the police would have charged them within two weeks if they thought they were guilty wouldnt they?

    Howard, Kay, Richards & Nardiello are 24. Only 25 year old I could find is Mattis.
