My brothers live in New Zealand.

Ok for a look round but sounds like it might be a bit dull to live there.

No other place fits ***ALL*** of the criteria

There's loads of places that are good to visit
But there's only ONE place (see earlier post) that fits all the criteria for a good lifestyle

    Full of Australians?

I'd say that was a slight drawback

Rather have British columbia - especially Vabcouver - ticks all the boxes except perhaps climate in summer - and great for skiing in winter

I've only ever been on day trips so I don't know my way around.

Is there more to it than the Lighthouse and North andSouth Landings?

    Seconded

I've looked into it and the only thing that is stopping me is that the mother-in-law wouldn't come. My mother-in-law is great, it's the wife's mother-in-law that causes any ructions.

I've visited all the countries mentioned above, and I'd like a holiday home in Nelson, New Zealand.

Not sure I'd like to live there permanently, as it could feel a bit lonely, but the area around Marlborough Sounds isthe most beautiful place in the world, in my opinion.

    Just a bit but

having said that we usually use it as a base and then go out for the day to Brid, Scarbro' etc.

Think the place is Mollies Tearooms and Steakhouse, the food is all from local producers.

    RE: Why South Island?

Actually, thenorth part of the South Island has some of the sunniest weather in NZ - hence all the vineyards there.
