iFollow - A Cautionary Tale (for anyone thinking of subscribing)

The only thing that would make it tolerable for me, if I lived overseas and couldn't get to many matches, would be a fully working, reliable Player service. Being able to either watch the matches live, or at least the day after, would make it just about ok. I've been thinking for the last few years of emigrating somewhere warm but there are too many doubts stopping me.

The fact that you are having these problems doesn't make it a good proposition for exiled fans, does it?

Clubs don`t have any say, I emailed them with some questions last week and the media team said that. I am pretty happy with the service all in all, living across the pond and can watch games as they happen is great(even though there`s no commentary or the don`t point cameras at subs activity so we have to guess who`s been swapped around.) Annoyed that they promised EVERY GAME yet not the Carabao cup, then to find that the Villa game wasn`t available too, hmmm every game my ass.

 

I'm still awaiting a response to the below points I sent by email, apart from the "We're working on it" response:

First chance I've had to watch a live game on the new iFollow iPad App, but there is no commentary.

I tried to get the audio on my laptop, even though it may not be in sync, only to find technical difficulties (this has already been addressed by EFL).

Then the iPad App stops with a popup message "iFollow is being used on another device".

Maybe I should have read the small print, but this is not what I was expecting when I paid $140.

Even with the live game with no commentary, the sound track is not synced. The fans cheer, boo, etc. several seconds after the action.

And now I have to turn my BBC App off, as it announced Halftime about a minute before the iFollow App.

 

I have been a long time, regular user of Barnsley Player but will not be subscribing to ifollow until such time as I receive full instructions from the club and a confirmation that all the problems/glitches mention above are resolved. It's a shame that I have lost the facility and the club has lost money but I have neither the time nor inclination to phaff around on some technology issue which is not of my making.
