Possibly not ... I certainly didn't regard Cryne's comments as anything other than a reassurance that we would 'compete' for the right sort of players if they became available. Sort of a Windass type situation of I'll make that money available if there's a cracking signing that going to excite all comes around. Beyond that I thought the club would be scrabbling for Bosmans etc, as it appears we are but the majority of clubs now rely on the freebie free for all at the end of the season. Admittedly, it is worrying that we don't seem to be able to compete with teams in lower divisions in this regard (ie- Bradford) and that is frustrating but I don't follow Journo's line of thought that the club has somehow reneaged on an earlier promise to blow us away with box office signings ... that's not what they said.
