I'm sick and tired of this 'Sir Bobby' culture

Very few players leave us now with out getting a good old slagging on here, glad to see the Bobster may survive that from the majority.

Hes done well out of us and we have done well out of him. Good luck for the future to him I say.

 

If Steve Houghton gets called sir for overseeing the destruction of the town centre, for wasting millions upon millions on stupid designs and piss poor planning and for giving barnsley the worst waste colection service in england then i think bobby deserves one for putting a smile on peoples faces for 10 years

Jay has a few good things to say about Bobby..........but its not the full story

Because he is everything what Jay has said, he has generated a worshipping culture with many of the Barnsley faithful..........hence the problems he has caused to managers of the club that didn't play him in the first team..........not because they had something personal against him but because Bobby, like all players, come to a stage where they cannot perform has they once did.

Hill, Flicker and then Wilson have left Bobby out of the side simply because he wasn't up to standard..........nothing more nothing less.
All three of these managers cannot be wrong.

Of the 3 managers you've mentioned who can't all be wrong when it comes to opinions of a players ability... Or can they? ...... let's not have another TK thread!

We are all craving a team of young lads, Barnsley related and committed, club in their hearts etc etc. I certainly am. Well Bobby is one but who also comes with loyalty, important experience and could have become a mentor to the predominately youthful squad we'll inevitably have next year.

 

All three felt threatened by his presence.

It's not ludicrous! We all want success. It's inevitable with the clubs constraints and the messages coming from within the club that it's their direction and that's where we're heading! Like it or not.

We've gone down the Frimpong, Shea route. Costly an ineffective with no longevity! If those with any talent that have milked our club for seasons on end would have shown Bobbys commitment etc we wouldn't be here now!
Anyone who argues against that is..... well...

 

It's crazy. How many players up to standard have we produced in the last 30 years? We will tow to name a full side and yet we are on about a full side at once?! It's not going to happen and it's a recipe for L2 football. Committed and talented players don't just come from the Barnsley borough and they never have done.

Other clubs manage to build sides so why can't we? Is it because we really haven't got a clue what we are doing?

I'm not arguing that Bobby hasn't shown commitment, in fact I didn't mention him...

I don't know if you've jumped on it and misinterpreted me. These are different catagories. Not all tarn youth players!

The above includes young academy graduates, Bobbys Fosters Steeles etc. not a team of XI Barnsley born lads but an XI that give a (in your words) a shiny ***** about BFC!

Fook off the mercenaries we've all spent our hard earned money watching their performances when it's obvious they didn't give a ****. And not one of the aforementioned (Frimpong Sheas) could have laced Bobbys booits! Fact

I do respect him for being loyal. I respect him for being in the community. I respect him for being bothered and trying hard. Some people on here however assume that when there is an ounce of criticism against one of their favoured players then it must, automatically, be trashed out of sight or else the reverence allocated to said player is being threatened and so therefore their views are being threatened. If you read what I said I simply think he has not been a good enough player. I say again, he is and never has been quick enough and although he does try hard he's not that good as a footballer. Galileo was once locked up by a majority for claiming the earth was round........Established 'truths' are there to be questioned as sometimes they arent true.
