I used to prefer the ps2 to the xbox, but since the updates its the other way around, 360 is easily better than the PS3, more games, same graphics as the ps3, am sure a fiver a month doesnt make a decision on whether to get a PS3 or not, + the first month is free anyway for 360, you buy GTA and there is another month free inside that. The PS3 is uglier, the controllers are rubbish, alot better controllers for 360. Online the 360 is much simpler and better to use than the PS3, also alot of people play online in evey game.
And most of all, the 360 is about £100 cheaper or more you can put your 40 quid to your year subscription a couple of games, then you still wouldnt have spent as much as a PS3 costs alone.

There are definitely pro's and cons for each, but when you consider price, that can't be right. For some users maybe so. But I believe the costs escalate for add-ons with the 360 - costs for a wireless hub (unless you are ok to connect wired) and also a charging dock for the remotes (which are surely a requirement) but both these cost money, but are both built in with the PS3 - the price you see is the price you pay. Now the Elite 360 may have these already, i'm not certain, but to get a 360 Elite, you are only talking about £40 less than a PS3. And when you consider that the PS3 has Blu-Ray built in, it seems a no-brainer. I know i'm a fan-boy, but I do believe i'm (only just) mature enough to realise that I can see argument for both. I can honestly see though that in another 12 months, the PS3 will be the system of choice. It's a tough call, and certain things will suit different gamers. £5 p/m for me wouldn't be worth the money for Live, as sometimes I don't play at all online - I currently haven't for about 2 months - which would have been a tenner wasted. At least with PS it's free, so I don't HAVE to play just for the sake of it.
PS3 I bought mine as a casual gamer but the appeal for me was the built in (future proof) Blu Ray player. It is the only Blu Ray player that is future proof in that it can be constantly updated via downloadable upgrades, unlike other BluRay players. The games are superb and at the moment are probably identical to the XBOX. However, PS3 is a relatively new machine and developers have been a little sluggish getting to grips with the hardware. 360 is probably running now at max but with the PS3 being relatively new, it is nowhere near its peak in terms of graphics. Maybe in 3 years time it will be. Apparently Sony will be releasing some big releases soon and the range of games is getting wider and wider by the week. Games are on Blu Ray discs and future discs have a capacity of 50gb so imagine the quality of the games soon. In my opinion the 360 has the best range of games but as a casual gamer that doesn't matter to me. All the new games/last 2 years are available on PS3 but the PS3 as a media centre is superb. The wonderfully presented slideshows of your photo albums, the free online play, the internet browser, music player and the awesome Blu Ray player swayed it for me ! PAOLO
Ive had both and after not playing my Xbox for 8 weeks I decided to sell it. PS3 for me everytime, with as mentioned the BlueRay being a massive benefit.
