It's good to remember all the boys lost at Munich at appropriate anniversaries. It didn't happen in many of our lifetimes, but is significant to football fans. The two Barnsley kids aren't any different. It's sad of course, but so is any death. I believe and it's only my belief, that it is not appropriate to drag it up every year. We are asked so often to express emotions, it is not limitless and individuals should be allowed to think directly of their own, without obligation for others.

I've stopped wearing a poppy. I think about those lads all the time, I don't need a conscience badge. I spend more time thinking about Ashley Banks, than I ever will Tommy Taylor.

I'm proud of these local lads, what they achieved and I refuse to forget them, nor how their lives were tragically cut short in such an horrific manner. Is keeping quiet for a minute so difficult, is it too tasking a request? You bring up Ashley Banks as if it's a case of one or the other. It isn't and I doubt that Ashley's family would be happy with his name being used in such a point scoring exercise.
As for wearing a poppy, it is NOT a badge of conscience. The money raised goes to help members & their families of the Armed Forces from current & past conflicts who are struggling to cope. I am proud to buy and wear my poppy and will continue to do so. I accept others may not and that is their right. However, it is out of order to claim I & others do it to ease our conscience, simply to enhance your own stance.
Personally Paul, I find your post disappointing on a thread about remembering Mark Jones & Tommy Taylor. If you feel so strongly about not showing respect, couldn't it have been done a separate thread and leave this one alone for those of us who DO wish to pay our respects?
